Salzburg Gay Friendly Hotels

Quite agree with previous reviewers: everythhing is just right with this hotel: service is attentive, rooms don't look expensive but are tasteful and comfortable, the view is fantastic, breakfast too etc. A small spa would be nice, otherwise can't recommend this place enough. NB: location is not central but you can get there in 5-10 minutes by taxi (8 euros.) Considering the view you really dont mind being away from the crowds. Will prefer this to Sacher Salzburg or other downtown hotel next tim - June

I first came here to this hotel in April 2007. It was much better than I expected, and is quite possibly the best accomadation I've ever stayed in. OK at the time I was mainly used to scruffy hotels in Skegness, but this hotel was extremely clean and all the furniture and facilities were lovely and new. The view from the balcony of my room was fantastic, with a manificent view of Untersburg and other mountains and fields in the distance. We appreciated the relaxing stay in this hotel and in particular the kindness of the staff. The hotel is placed next a park with ancient trees and it's possible to go in the centre of Salzburg passing through the Mirabell Park, full of flowerbeds multicolour. Very, very nice! When we came back to the hotel after the afternoon walk, it has been very relaxing to stay in the lounge in front of a glass of champagne and the view over the old town. Upon arrival we were assigned a room in the annex across the street from the main hotel. We complained and were told we could have a room in the main building if we wished. Upon checking out the room in the annex we decided to stay there. The room there was larger with a spacious sitting area and a large modern bathroom None of the rooms were luxurious but were certainly clean and comfortable. Outstanding hotel and best service and attention to detail by all of the staff. We stayed in the lovely and remodeled modern Villa alongside the main hotel. Yes, they have elevators! and a CD player in the room, espresso maker, large flat screen tv, beautiful bathroom. Breakfast choices are fantastic. We walked from Main Train Station, but city busses are available to/from for 1.50Euro per person to within 2 blocks ot the hotel. I asked the staff to place that information on their website. I only stayed 1 night whilst passing through Salzburg but the hotel imprssed me. I caught the €2 bus directly from the airport to outside the hotel and the following morning left by train from the main station that is right next door to the hotel. The reception staff were efficient and helpful, the rooms immaculate and stylish. The small shower room was well designed with a heated floor and powerful shower.. - Deborah

We stayed at Kohlpeter for 1 Night in August 2007. Coming from Germany the night before we arrived about 9 AM. The staff was very accomodating and checked us in and held onto our bags for us even though the room was not prepared. They were kind enough to move the bags up to the room when it was ready. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bathroom was extremely well presented and clean. This is the type of place that works really well for a budget concious traveller. The CD hotel is a very nice change from other hotels in Salzburg being very modern, stylish and clean. The location is very good, only a ten minute walk to the historical centre. The staff was very friendly. As we arrived quite late in the evening it was difficult to find a place to eat nearby. There is no hotel restaurant but a bar that serves small snacks. The rooms are spacious and clean, the only problem is that the ac can't be switched off at all and the ac fan was humming loudly during the - Sophia

I reserved our room for 3 nights at a rock-bottom price, but was surprised to find we had a spacious well appointed room with king bed and great bathroom. The in house restuarants were good, especially the keller, which served wonderful schnitzel and great value prices. The location was ideal, on the tour bus routes, close to all attractions and restaurants. The staff were helpful and everything went just fine - now that's unusual! Located out of town near to the railway station, initially thought the walk to town was too far every day however soon found quicker route through the gardens to the river and over the bridge. Turn right at the congress building and keep right, good short cut. Very enjoyable weeks stay, breakfast good, plenty to choose from and the staff helpful. The rooms good, beds very comfortable and hotel very quiet even though it was full while we were there. Travelled to Munich on the train for the day, v - Christopher
