Salzburg Family Friendly Rooms Hotels

I stayed here for 2 nights this April. Its within an easy walk of the train station. I arrived and whilst my room wasn't ready could sit out on the deck in the Spring sunshine enjoying my first ever Almdudler. My room was a good size with a 3/4 bath. Best of all was the wireless internet available in the hotel room. Can't fault the hotel staff, they were friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English when my German escaped me and I had fogotten my travel adapter to charge my phone/camera and - Lesley

We stayed at Kohlpeter for 1 Night in August 2007. Coming from Germany the night before we arrived about 9 AM. The staff was very accomodating and checked us in and held onto our bags for us even though the room was not prepared. They were kind enough to move the bags up to the room when it was ready. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bathroom was extremely well presented and clean. This is the type of place that works really well for a budget concious traveller. We had no trouble finding the hotel, and were upgraded to the President's suite upon check-in. We were astounded!! The room was gorgeous - great walk-in closet - large dining room, den/tv area and bar/desk. The bathroom was huge!! Staff treated us as if they were determined to get a perfect rating, and they more than succeeded!! Parking was convenient and safe, but we did have to pay 8 Euros. This hotel was excellent value for money. We were a family of 5 with one child being an infant. They were able to accommodate us in an apartment with 2 rooms and the toilet and bathroom separate, which was fantastic with kids. All the usual things expected in a decent hotel, however a kettle in the room would have been nice to heat water for baby bottles and make a coffee/tea etc The staff were really helpful and were able to provide information or where to eat, sights to see and details on how - Marc

Located out of town near to the railway station, initially thought the walk to town was too far every day however soon found quicker route through the gardens to the river and over the bridge. Turn right at the congress building and keep right, good short cut. Very enjoyable weeks stay, breakfast good, plenty to choose from and the staff helpful. The rooms good, beds very comfortable and hotel very quiet even though it was full while we were there. Travelled to Munich on the train for the day, v - Christopher

We spent two nights here after the Munich Beer Festival - it was easily found after a 20 minute walk from the train station. The building is nothing fancy, but the reception from the staff was very welcoming. Our room was basic, but clean and tidy with a programmable safe for passports and a fridge (pre-stocked) that we could squeeze a few extras into. We had a room just around the corner from the main road, which could be heard but didn't disturb a sound nights sleep. Breakfast was a typical - Michael

hotel is in a good location- not too close to the town but a great bus service on the road outside the hotel- one bus goes direct to airport. The hotel room was quiet and the room was a good size. Tea making facilitie provided and topped up each day, free tv and, good sized bathroom and plenty of storage- we stayed on floor 3. breakfast was good- lots of breads, rolls, fruit salad, yoghurts, cheeses, meats etc and a nice beer garden to drink in at the end of the night- did not eat in res - Arnold

Clean, basic typically austrian family run hotel, nothing was to much trouble for the staff, friendly and very very helpful. Room 26, was spacious and clean, comfortable beds, all towels, toiletries provided and refreshed each day. Breakfast room again was clean and well presented, with a large selection of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, breads, rolls and sweet cake, as well as tea, coffee and various juices,plenty to prepare for a day in Salzburg, daily papers also provided, again found staff ex - Helene

Can't complain about this hotel at all. 2 minute walk to Mirabel Palace and the Sound of Music tour meeting place. Short stroll to the city centre. Not fashionable, but it was clean, smoke free, quiet, friendly staff, breakfast was alright not great selection. For what we paid each 27EUR its an absolute bargain for value and location - definitely better than a hostel. Note if ur heading to Salzburg airport via no2 bus, ask the reception about the bus stop just around the corner behind the hotel, - Brian
