The hotel was very good value for money. The guest kitchen facility is brilliant and really allows you to economise on food spending by making quick meals/sandwiches. The room was clean and comfortable and I was very pleased with the experience I got for the money paid. We stayed for 2 nights and travelling to city centre was very easy with the no2 and no.4 bus. There are timetables in the hotel for the buses and they also have a map of the city centre. Aldi and Spar and Mcdonalds are nearby at.
all reviews » If you do not know where to have a breakfast have it in the hotel! If you are travelling by car there is an underground parking so you do not have to worry about a parking space even if the hotel is full, and you probably will not use the car because with a SalzburgCard all buses are free! Buying a SalzburgCard is a big advantage and very good deal if you want to see most of the museums (the castle with the trolley) - just get a brochure of the SalzburgCard and you'll find out why it is a must!. Very friendly staff, explained in details how to park, how to find a restaurant, etc. New and clean bathroom equipment. Comfortable beds (to my taste). Our windows - facing the yard - were very quiet. Breakfast is modest, but not expensive, it has all basic stuff. Family rooms for 6 persons! The WC with a sink and the bathroom are separate! Paid parking is right next door. WiFi was pretty fast for the hotel even in the rooms. Plenty of electric outlets. I was really pleasantly surprised at how much value you get for your money. The feeling was very much that of a hotel (a nice, modern, comfortable one). The "hostel" part was that there were a lot of young people (though not all and not loud/partying) and you had to bus your own dishes after breakfast. Everything else said "hotel". The rooms were very spacious, beds comfy, nice staff, lots of room down in the common rooms, good wireless (free) and clean. The staff were really lovely and helpful. We were able to store our luggage as long as we needed to. Breakfast was really good, although not included in the room rate. Rooms were very clean and comfy. Loved the friendliness and general atmosphere here, also the show sound of music at 8:30pm every Sunday and Wednesday night. Bikes are for hire too although it was snowing when we were there so we didn't use them!. A bit far away from old town but they have bikes to rent and transit right out front to make an easy trip. The place is super clean and nice. Staff was okay and mostly helpful. Breakfast was good but wake up early as lots of people stay here and it can go quick! The greek restaurant next door, Akropolis, is fantastic. One of the best meals we had while in Europe. This is a cross between a LUXURY hostel and a hotel. It is a great value and wonderful location. We'd been traveling for 2 weeks in Europe and stayed many places and price ranges. Kids voted this the best place. When I told them it was the least expensive they couldn't believe it. Staff was nicest incurred so far even though they were extremely busy. Hotel with many facilities ,, near to the City Center even you can walk ,,, public transportation closed to the hotel ,, staff are very good in deal The most beauty thing , the hotel arrange a card that allow you to use all public transportation and you can use nany areas in szburg using this card and the price of card was fair enugh arround 40€. The rooms were decorated in a creative way - we had moose stencilled in various places in the room. The room was spacious. On the main floor was a kitchen and a fridge, and a washer and drier, so it felt a lot like a youth hostel. We were not keen on the breakfast offerred, but within the same mall there was a grocery store with a lot of choice. I would describe this place as more of a fancy hostel/backpackers with private rooms and dorms. It had excellent facilities and rooms, and there is a good communal kitchen and area to hang out downstairs. The €5 breakfast is good value. We stayed in a private double room which was spacious enough and very new and clean. The hotel is very clean and the room is very spacious (Superior Double Room) very much what you see in the pictures. Hotel staff is very helpful and ready to answer questions. Check-in was a breeze. Breakfast is decent - not the most hearty, but decent enough. Guest kitchen to prepare your own meals. Room design in Eco-style. Clean, bright bathroom. Many free shampoo, soap, etc. awesome mountain view from full height window. bike rent service. drink, snack bar on the first floor. well equipped guest kitchen with washing machine and tumble dryer. free paper city maps at reception. Short distance from the railways station and the city center. Free WiFi. 3 supermarkets around. 2 pubs not far from the hotel (do not drink local beer!). A shared kitchen on the ground floor (actually I did not use it). A castle on the top of the hill (eco-tourism besides the hotel). guest kitchen is really great. we made use of it on both nights. after a tiring day of sight-seeing, it's nice to have a "home-cooked" dinner with the family and friends. they also have a washing machine and dryer. although i didn't get to use it but nice to have just in case. The hotel is a little bit far away from the main station, but the connections are good. You can take a bus to the main station or to the city center within 10 minutes. The staff is nice. They even have a mailbox that you can throw your postcard in. They have a table football. Clean. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Location was convenient and it was easy to navigate to the sights on foot from the hotel. Nearby shopping was helpful. There's a public gym right next door for exercise fans although it didn't open until 8:00 AM so I couldn't use it. Pleasant stay, nice clean room with a good view. The staff is friendly and on sunday nights they pass "the sound of music" at the main lounge, it sounds silly but in the end a lot of people just gather around to re-watch it while surfing the web or quietly talking!. It is very clean.The rooms are nicely decorated and looked traditional. It has all the necessities and still manages to have a minimalist look. It has a kitchen for those who want to cook their own meals. There is also a guitar in the lobby that anyone can play :). I was very pleased with the service from the staff. It was exceptional. They answered every single one of my questions (even the stupid ones) without complaint, were always there and were very reassuring to a very tired traveler like me. Would stay there again!. I really liked the fact that the front desk is open 24 hours. I also appreciate the relatively low cost and breakfast optional. The rooms are clean but no frills. I did not stay here because of the frills but for the security and availability and pricing. The staff was friendly and it was clean and ac was working. For a family of four with breakfasts and parking it was more than 200 a night, and that was definitely too much as it was more like a hostel than a hotel and not even close to the city center. This is a clean well run hotel on the outskirts of Salzburg. The #4 bus is a very short walk and takes you directly to Old town Salzburg. Parking is available and there is a fantastic Greek restaurant next door...free ouzo at the end of our meal!. Really nice and new hotel with nice modern rooms. It's a budget friendly hotel and offers everything necessary for your stay. Rooms were clean and simply furnitured, there is a nonstop bar in lobby, stuff is friendly. The historical city centrum is about 30-45 minutes by foot. The location is great. Not in the city center, but transportation links available. Amazing staff, so friendly, they speak English. The room is spacious, comfortable. the kids loved the two floor beds :) Spacious Parking Space. The value for money of the hotel made it possible for us to attend a wedding which we may not otherwise have been able to do. The easy going but well run hotel Meininger served our purpose very well. Distance from the city about couple minutes by bus, neighbourhood is also plus for a shopaholic.. There are lots of bus stops near to the hotel and a direct line to the airport. The breakfast is not include but it's cheap and good. The hotel is quite good, big cleaned and modern toilet, cozy room with, at least in our case, enjoyable view, professional and gently recepcion, good internet connection both in public areas and in the room. The interior design is excellent, the reception( the handsome young man) is very patient and considerate. Everything is fine. The tissue, liquid soap and shampoo are good. Shower machine is excellent. 1. all staff -reception and cleaning- are very nice and accommodating. 2. there is bus stop -going to old town- right across the street 3. there is DM, Merkur, and other shops within the hotel complex. We stayed in a five-person room and were provided with towels and soap, unusual in a hostel context; free wifi everywhere including rooms; rooftop terrace, bar, kitchen. Staff very helpful. Prompt, efficient service from staff. Staff usually spoke good English and were helpful in organising tours for us even at a short notice. Good continental breakfast choice at the price. The room is perfect! It's clean, new and nice. The staffs are also very nice. The reception is open 24 hrs. The bed is comfortable. I would go back here if I comes to Salzburg again. So what was great ? The staff - helpfull & friendly, room was clean, babycot prepared - according to the order, close distance from city center. We like everything particularly the staff to be particular Ms. Simona at reception was really helpful and guided us our trip in all possible way. the guest kitchen facility where you can use the microwave, the fridge, the stove and potatoes for free. Cutlery and crockery is also provided. Public Transportation was located right outside of hotel. The staff was very knowledgeable and provided inside tips on the christmas shopping. Wasn't able to get the wi-fi to work.Even though was getting signal in the room, the login and password info provided did not work. Since it is also like a hostel, if you get caught up with a large group of young people then check in may take time, but still I thought hat the staff were doing their best to serve other people when a large group was around.(this is applicable to any hotel, i guess, if a large tourist group arrives). The location is not a short walk away from the city centre as some other MEININGER hotels are but you can walk in good whether or take a bus, which is free with a SalzbugCARD!. There are no major "minuses". One should not expect anything extraordinary at this price, however. The lobby is not very big, and one will not want to sit there to spend an evening comfortably. A minor thing: there are no face/hand towels, so one is forced to use face tissues in the WC to dry the hands. For guests this may be OK, but having a hand towel would save the environment!. The location wasn't great but we knew we would pay a lot more to be in the heart of Salzburg's old town, so it was fine. Took a taxi back with the exhausted kids one day and it was 9 eur so not a big deal. We didn't take the bus but I know it stops right across the street. Area wasn't bad at all, just not the heart of the old town. Location was a bit out of the city centre but it wasn't a problem as the bus stop is 200m away or a taxi generally cost us 10-13eu to the train station (including bags and in reasonably heavy traffic) or 8-12ei from the city centre (depending on which taxi rank) bus is 2.40eu and regular. Had to keep entering in wifi code to stay connected. Distance from old town. The air conditioning wasn't cool and the windows don't open. The heat came right thru the glass which made the room very hot in the morning. Still there is no fridge in the hotel and If you want use the internet you have to get slip with user name and passsword every time. The washing machine took forever (we ended up not using it because the person before us said it took 3 hours). This hotel was quite expensive, and pretty far from the tourist area. There were not many restaurant choices in the area. Nothing that I can think of. Guest kitchen, while useful, it was too small for the amount of people it serves. Trying to cook a quick meal can actually take a bit of time. At night time staff use laundry facilities for own purpose, so we had to wait an hour for our turn. no cover above balcony, become wet in case of rainy weather. A WiFi password is valid for 1 device and 24 hours only - you need to take several items. staff don't smile so often. but they are ok. Rooms/beds were tiny and crowded. Barely anywhere to put all of our suitcases. The check-in is a bit to late,at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I had no expectations that Meininger did not fulfill. The location, the hostel feel, the price. Parking outside the hotel just for 2 hours. Then you have to move your car on the public street or pay 11€ for 24 hours car park. Wardrobe too small. Air conditioning played up so room was pretty stuffy. They shouldnt call it city center as it is not. It is about 15/20 minutes from city center. It didnt bother me thou as we had no issues in walking, but they should specify the walking distance to the city center and remove "city center" from the specs. There are noise from the bathroom as soon as you walk near to it. The sound is kind of scary. Didn't bother us as we didn't have a car, but for hotel rather than hostel guests, they charge for parking spaces in their car park. Has a youth-hostel feel to it, although it does have ensuite rooms for couples and families. Some distance away from the old town. It is located a bit far from the city center, but the hotel can be accessed by bus and S-Banh (S3) which takes only 5-10 mins. So, it was not bad but not a perfect location. Paying for parking. No microwave in room. Bed was a little hard. The location wasn't great, was a 20 minute walk to town or a bus ride. The space for triple room is poor. The 5th bed was not properly made up when we checked in. We booked the room for 5 pax but the 5th bed was not prepared before we arrived. too small wardrobe in the room for 3-4 persons. The room was a little small but I would definitely stay there again, it was a great value for the price. Rooms were cool. We couldn't manage to ge hot air from air conditioner which was the only option to warm the room. And what could be better ? For sure breakfast, especially wider choice of vegetables. Location-Away from Salzburg Hbf. The hotel starts from 3rd floor onwards. But, they have an elevator , which is ok. The corridor is RED in colour , which is repulsive.
