I don't think you need to look beyond Gasthof Rosslwirt for budget accommodation, cleanliness, comfort, great location, nice breakfast, free wifi (though it is sometimes weak but doesn't really bother you on a holiday as you are there for a trip and not for internet surfing). This is definitely the best place I have ever stayed. Such a lovely, brand new house with pleasant colours and designs. Spacious bedroom, lovely breakfast, and a warm reading area. Paul &Liz (The owner) is so friendly and really taking care of you. They provide the lift from/to the statin, even to the site. This is really a good choice for me. Thought it is not in Hallstatt, it still has good location. you can go Hallstatt by train (4-5mins), by walk(20-30mins), by ship,or by bicycle. The staff is very friendly,caring and helpful. The breakfast is rich and the location is good, just five minutes from the obertraun dachteinholen station and accessible to hallstatt by bus in several minutes. -
We spend 3 nights in Haus Alpenrose. It has a great location. Market, ferry, railway station, bike rent are reachable on foot. Ms. Angelika was very hospitable and helpful. I strongly recommend Haus Aplenrose.
