  I stayed at this hotel many years ago and, for the most part, my recent stay was just as I'd remembered. The rooms aren't huge, but they're comfortable. The staff is pleasant and helpful.   Herbert, Ricki and Alexander made our time in Salzburg so much more memorable. Herbert pension is a lovely accommodation with everything we could ask for and GREAT value for money. The property is only a leisurely walk to the main tourist attractions which is nice as you are away from the hustle and bustle. The suites were spaciou - Staying with Herbert and his family at their pension was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip.   We used the hotel as an overnight stop and were pleasantly surprised. Convenient for the Motorway, excellent parking, large comfortable room with good facilities. We had a nice meal in the Beer Garden and the breakfast was plentiful. The building was delightful with a lot of typical Character.   Sandra, the owner, was wonderfully helpful. She speaks German, Italian, English, and some French. We were driving, and so the free parking was a bonus (Salzburg has very expensive parking.) We experienced no noise. - The Star Hotel in Salzburg was brilliant! its location to the city,via a walk through a pedestrian tunnel puts you within a hundred metres of the main shopping area.Our room was spotlessly clean and although it overlooked the main road into the city we did not experience any roadnoise.The staff were always very polite and smiling(a rare commodity these days).
