Modern rooms, very clean. Self-contained units--everything you need to cook and do laundry. They even supply laundry/dishwasher soap daily. Excellent location, very quick walk to Town Hall and Museum (no lifts) stops. Our family of 3, including a 14 month old, had no problems traveling to/from the airport on the train with our bags from this hotel. The cot the hotel provided for our 14 mo son was fine. He slept in it without complaint. Complementary internet was very good. 1GB/day and excellen.
all reviews » The views were great and accommodated the 5 of us very well. The shops, the Rocks and Darling Harbour were literally on the door stop. Staff were friendly and very helpful - I had accidentally left a make up bag behind and called up 10 days later to see if I had left it behind. It was found in housekeeping and promptly mailed back to me. I would recommend the Meriton on Pitt street to everyone, my friends and I are already planning our next girls trip and happy to have our accommodation sorted!. We had a lovely spacious corner apartment with huge windows all around. Decor and all furnishings were of good quality. Kitchen was very well equipped, as was laundry. Lovely to have opening windows plus a balcony with table and chairs. When we arrived, we were greeted by Heremia who was very welcoming, friendly, efficient and helpful. First impressions are so important!. We were met at the front desk by Heremia Delamere-Beamsley, a trainee. He bent over backward to assure our party had a pleasant stay. I can't say enough about his customer service....he was so friendly and helpful. The Pitt St location is ideal as it is close to train station, buses, grocery store, mall shopping, and attractions. Great central location for Sydney within walking distance of most attractions. Friendly HELPFULL staff on reception, always ready to help and gave good recommendations for trips and services in Sydney. The apartment was great, had everything we needed and did not tie us down to a hotel routine. Stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. Friendly staff who look like they enjoy what they are doing. Parallel to a the busy George street and close to the Westfield shopping. Great location and save on transport by walking. If you want the train, you can catch Town Hall or St James. I'd come again. Very well positioned and having three double bedrooms worked well for our adult children and their partners. AC didn't work and staff were very helpful in solving the problem, provided heaters and moved us to another apartment the next day. Views were fantastic.. The large comfortable living space and kitchen area. I was travelling with my daughter and booked a twin bedded apartment but we were very lucky to be given a two bed one. We had all home comforts and were able to cook lovely meals in the well appointed kitchen. Loved the position, room & facilities :-) If I go to Syney in cbd again I will consider Meriton again. I was gadding about in Darling Harbour, down to Circular Quay & China Town to Ultimo, & train from Town Hall to airport. Excellent spot :-). Perfect location, supermarket, restaurants, food court all near by. Bus stop for red open top sight seeing bus and free 555 bus down to circular quay near by in George street. Views of darling Harbour from our 47th floor apartment. All in all great. It was so convenient with Town Hall railway station so close, a free bus around the corner, and supermarkets, cinemas, coffee shops and churches within a short stroll. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the swimming pool fabulous. Facilities like washing machine, stoves,iron boards etc are all provided to fulfill travellers needs. Staffs are friendly. Location is very good, easy for shopping, buses and trains and even ferries. Layout very pleasant and everything clean. We had just finished 2 weeks vacation in Hawaii and were getting on a cruise ship so the laundry facility came in handy to clean our clothes before getting on a cruise for 12 days. The fire works were on the other side of the building and we couldn't see them :). No sound on BBC news channel. Difficult to find something bad to say. Kinda annoyed the girls beside us were staying a night but got a room and level upgrade. We were 11 floors up to their 35. Just a minor thing, but I had nothing bad to say so... mmm perhaps a coffee machine! All good. Nothing. Could have larger selection of takeaway dine in or recommended restaurant list, but not an issue. Rocks were not very hot in sauna :-) Still good though. There wasn't anything we didn't like. The air-conditioners are a bit noisy and may turn off automatically at mid night. Yes it is cool in February at mid night, but a bit doubt about the hot days in December and January. As we had stayed for 6 nights and an early check in was required prior arrival, we still needed to wait until 2 to 3 pm. Compare with other hotels, long stay like that, an early check in will normally be offered. Some "city noise" when windows were open (mostly from a/c units loctated on roofs of nearby buildings), but with windows closed - all was quiet. Lifts were inadequate during heavy usage hours. Lifts stop at every floor even when full hence contributing to the human traffic. No free internet in the lobby. Toilet locks were either not appropriate or faulty. Dishwasher did not work and washing machine for laundry needed the dial manually turned to complete the cycle. Would have appreciated even a small discount as we only asked for maid service once in our 5 night stay, as well as the appliance problems mentioned above. nothing!!!. We only could stay one night!!. Folding doors for laundry did not work smoothly and stuck - could not close but not a real problem. There was nothing to dislike. Nothing. -Elevators were alittle slow -Bathrooms just needed alittle spot clean and mould wash down. -should have some salt and pepper in the kitchen. Some previous guest had left cigarette butts on the side balcony. We did mention it but I guess it was not a top priority in such a busy environment. Gym equipment needs improvement. 3 elevators for 40 floors which included 10 stories of car parking. Even in peak times staff would have 1 elevator tied up so there was often waiting time for the elevator. A small but irritating detail. The gym only opened at 6am. 24 hour access would be better... n/a. the loudness of the doors inbetween rooms when being closed quite loud especially when left to slam close by other guests. 1. The price was too expensive (as it was the Bledisloe Cup weekend!) 2. Parking was expensive and lucky I have a small car! for the price we paid - over $!,000 for 2 night, the parking should have been free. 3. Had an issue with ther lift and was briefly stuck in it without buttons working. Could not fault the Meriton. Very happy with all aspects. Lifts took a while. Step on diagonal on staircase to bedrooms is dangerous.3 Of our party slipped & slid, one of whom already has a bad back.This is a safety issue which should be addressed for all parties concerned. It was very loud with the street noise. The only negative thing was when we were about to check out, the service desk was manned by the security guard. There were no staff available so that we could check out. The elevators take a long time to arrive from the lobby and from rooms, particularly during peak times. The lifts are awful! You can wait around 5 mins for a lift which is very frustrating. Especially frustrating when you get to your room on the 41st floor to find your key is not working and have to wait again to go back down and get it changed!.
