The location is absolutely great but the wonderful and 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude of the staff (management and housekeeping) was really refreshing. They made a basic hotel feel really welcoming, comfortable and like 'home'. If they could do anything to help, then they did and always with a smile. I loved it. The staff were really attentive and went out of their way to look after us during our stay. The room had a sea view and is right on the beach, can't get a better location! Also, the hotel downstairs is a good place for a drink.
all reviews » I like the fact that the hotel was literally few 1 minute away from the beach. Despite having bars just below the hotel, I could still sleep peacefully!. All aspects were awesome, truly a great place to stay. Great atmosphere, staff and surrounds. Location is perfect, price is also great for the cheap and cheerful hotel rooms. Needs fridges in all rooms - after all, Sydney does get very hot and since they do not provide breakfast, a few basics need to be kept fresh. Nothing!. The water was slow and cold in the shower. Check-in is usually unattended, can be difficult to track someone down. late night noise. Difficult, expensive parking. Nothing stood out. Had no idea it would be so so noisy . It felt like the bar patrons were in my room so no sleep at all until 3am when it closed. I got to bed quite late but only slept for half an hour at a time because of an intermittent droning noise like some sort of pump working and then stopping - on then off, all bloody night - adjacent to my room, which if I remember rightly was room 8. David (the Manager??) was lucky I had to leave early otherwise I'd have been breaking his office door down for my money back!!. dirty, noisy, no window, hot, no air conditioner, the fan was broken and staff did not fix it. Poor service. Rooms too small, bed too big. Cockroaches climbing the walls. No provisions for electric shavers or anywhere to place a washbag or hang towels. Never again unless I want blasting noise from the gaming room tv until 2.30 am. I left at 4.30 am and slept in my car. I cannot stress enough how disgusting and filthy the "family" room was,the stink of pigeon permeated the entire room,pigeon droppings on the furniture.stains on linen inside and outside the bed,coffee spilt up the walls,boogers wiped on walls,the list goes on.i dont know how they can even advertise the room,it was a unfit for anyone to stay in there let alone a family. The fact that when I booked through the website I was told that my wife's credit card would not be charged and to pay on arrival.. Which I did in cash - only to find on returning home that my wife's credit card had been charged as well. I have phoned the hotel three times and I was told each time that they would look into it and phone me back - which they have not done. Also they have told me there was no record of a cash payment which makes me think that the receptionist pocketed the cash. Poor ventilation in the rooms and the smell of fumes/ chemicals throughout the whole night.
