Location; size (boutique); set-out (would love to try a room with a view); breakfast; bar facilities and library/lounge. Being able to walk in and out and return after 10 PM without having to unlock/access entry. LOVED the conservation of an old building & the charm of the fit out - well done! PS - We had to unexpectedly cancel our second night due to family commitments a were delighted not to be charged for the night - despite a 'no refund' policy. Reminds me of the 'old days' when custome.
all reviews » The location was fantastic, very easy to find your way to many of Sydney's activities. The hotel itself blended the historical building with ultra modern fittings tastefully. The bedroom was adequate and the ensuite was a decent size. The shower was large. The room we stayed in was able to be dark with the blinds down for a sleep in. The staff were very helpful and willing to help with anything requested of them. There wasn't much street noise even though there are restaurants and pubs all arou. Quaint hotel, formally an old warehouse, my room still had the original fireplace ( pity they didn't put some pine cones or flowers in it instead a bare space!) Service was good, apart from using taps at the bar where the gingerale was stale! Great position close to the harbour , but if you want the shops then a bit of a walk!. Location was great we came down for 3 days and did the Bridge Climb,Manly,Vivid Festival was on and we were right in the middle of it.Love the entry and lounges and bookcases present a relaxed warm feeling.Rooms were great for ease of coming and going.Staff were friendly and helpful.Thankyou.We wil stay there again. Because the hotel was an old converted hospital it had a lot of "different" features that you just cant get in a new modern hotel. Booked the room and it was supposed to have a fireplace, the room we had did not. Also no elevator and we don't recall seeing that on the hotel description. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, nowhere appropriate to plug in the kettle. People leaving each morning at 5.00am were very noisy on wooden hallway floors. Likewise the hotel restaurant emptying their bottles in the early hours might annoy guests. Luckily I wake early anyway. Whilst it was full service breakfast, they delivered the courses to fast!! The chair in the room looks like an afterthought & is not particularly comfortable. Range of beers were light on. Rooms painted so dark, at least paint some walls a lighter colour. No lift. No hotel companion in room. There is no lift?. the room was small. Had a problem for breakfast. Seemed they were short staffed. Very small bathroom. Was a little noisy on weekend night - Sunday but did not go on too late. I think you could have more info about the bar and dining area in the room. I couldnt find it in the booklet provided. the bathroom just little small. Only downside was the street noise. We were on the 3rd floor and it sounded like we were on the street. :(. nothing really. Nothing really. Bar staff poorly trained. A little hard to find. Failure of male staff to follow through. Being charged $40 for parking when the quote on the website was $35. We don't like the breakfast it was very poor for $20. I could got a better breakfast from the café. The room looked a little tired and in need of a refresh. Bed was too small - I am 178cm tall and my feet were almost exposed at the bottom of the bed. I undersatnd that because the room is so small the bed has been chosen as to maximise the space. You would not want to be 184cm and staying in this room. Had to ask about the wifi facility - this should be free. Was waived by the manager after questioning. Serious plumbing issues! Room stuffy. No lift. Not a business hotel. We were allocated a very small room this time. Poor experience during check-in (was never notified that room was read when we were told we'd receive a call, poor attitude of bell boy delivering bags (was late delivering bags and mentioned that I obviously already knew the number to dial reception). Breakfast was VERY substandard compared to last time and significantly more limited for the same price. Room not made up and towels not replaced on two occassions. Staff. Disception. Room booked was not what was supplied. Great views and heritage fireplace did not exist. Ended up in basement at the end of a damp smelling corridor after the toilets and the gym. Very disappointing. Bed hard and uncomfortable. As an experienced traveller, worst so called 4.5 star hotel ever stayed in.

The ticket must be validated by the Harbour Rocks Hotel reception desk before departure. Guests are then required to enter the validated ticket into the exit boom gate before leaving the car park.
