  We loved our room, a 2 bedroom. It had lots of space with a big shag rug in the lounge area. Very tastefully decorated. Great kitchen area if you wanted to cook. All the essentials. Loved the river view from our room. Great walking track very close by. Ballina has a great pizza place that delivers. A fantastic place to stay.   Close to Wynyard station Lady at reception was lovely and helped me with my bags, toddler, portacot etc, she loaded me onto the trolley, including my son in his carseat and helped us unload into our room. She had a NZ accent and was wearing a grey shirt when she checked in. She was great and deserves recognition!! On the Sunday there was a brunett... what people say » e lady (looked young, maybe mid twenties) who was very helpful to me and my son and held the lift as I arranged him and my groceries in the early afte - We stayed in a deluxe 2 bedroom, one bathroom apartment with our 3 kids including a baby in a portacot. The apartment was fabulous, very clean and spacious and extremely comfortable for all of us. Our kids loved the heated pool and spa. Excellent location and easy walking distance to the main attractions and with Wynyard station around the corner, getting to Bondi or anywhere else was a breeze. We will definately stay here again and recommend to others.

The location was so convenient with the beach a block away. Also within the block there were three restaurants (Pizza, Mix and Pasta), post office, Pharmacy, general store and a bottle shop. All with prices comparative to the big supermarkets. Brilliant walking trails. We also saw many whales from the many lookouts. It is a straight drive into the CBD. Great all round

  The sucurity was of high standard. Staff were welcoming and prompt. Easy to find and great access from street. Very clean and well equipped mini bar. Love the freedom of having the kitchenette in the room. Love the fact I don't have to step over and into a bath/spa to have a shower! I liked the newspaper, definitely a great extra. Didn't hear any external noise from our room. - the friendly and professional staff; the size of the studio apartment was surprisingly very large and very comfortable; the restaurant in the hotel and the cafe next door were excellent and value for money. Room was clean; bed was comfortable; shower was excellent and the radio worked! A working radio is a rarity among hotels these days

  The fact that the hotel staff warmed the room for us knowing that we will be arriving late hence we would not be cold after we arrive. The room has everything that a family with young kids need. The jacuzzi/ spa was large enough for my 2 kids to dip in. The site was huge and we had a great view the next day, the kids love the space to run round. -... what people say » The separate single storey double bedroom cabins means if you travel with another couple then you are not on top of other people as you are in regular hotels. Each cabin has an attractive bushland outlook. It is very central for vineyards and other Hunter Valley attractions.

  The whole weekend was excellent. My negative comment was of one staff member, who probably needs a bit of retraining. However the staff were great considering the storm that had ensued not long after our arrival. Staff could have been concerned about personal property and they still kept a smile and courteous attitude during their task at hand. I ... what people say » have great admiration in how they coped. I attended the 1 RAR reunion dinner. Thank You for a great and memorable weekend. I am still buzzing from the - I partciularly was extremely imporessed by the night receptionist Nathan. I also stayed there Christmas eve and the day after and he was on duty on both occasions. So helpful was he that I intended to write a letter to the managemant extolling our praise.You are fortunate to have him and youir other staff members were helpful as well. Please pass on my thanks to Nathan. Also has good facilities, including the pool and closness to the beach if required.

Staff were extra helpful and friendly. The room was large and well designed. The best features included the bathroom with its own spa bath and the large balcony overlooking the golf course which was stunning. Being a smoker, the ashtray on the balcony table was much appreciated and made the morning coffees more enjoyable.
