I only needed a room for one night and it was as I expected for the price. It was convenient and comfortable without any big fuss. For the small number of hours I used the room it was exactly what I wanted. I could catch the tram outside the door and come back the same way which was great. It was only a short walk to the Spencer St bus depot to the airport so that was also convenient. Very small but well equipped room with microwave, tv, fridge, toilet, shower, aircon, ironing board, place to put clothes, toaster and kettle. Did lack a dining table. I was in single bed room. Cheapest I could get. Awesome location - a little bit of noise as you'd expect. The little bit of interaction I had with the staff was positive - they were very polite.
all reviews » Everything. Staff and management are very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Stayed there twice already for 2 seperate business trips in 10 days. Perfect and will stay again. Thought the staff were all great and very helpful. Allowed me to have a 11am checkout without an extra charge. Lent me an umbrella. Very comfortable bed. Very clean, lots of towels, and liked they had a toaster too. Good room, staff member attentive and keen to ensure stay was great. When phoned reception re bed immediate apology and moved to another room. Staff member could not have been more helpful. Represents a hotel in central Melbourne which is good value for money. As the room overlooked Swanston St thought it would be noisier but apart for trams the noise level was satisfactory. Super friendly staff, very clean, great location in the heart of the city. I have paid twice as much for half as good in the past. Will not hesitate to book here again in the future. I don't think I would want to be in the room for a long stay as it really had no outlook with two small windows opposition a wall but as I was only there at night and in the morning for a short time it didn't matter. I could feel the wires through the matress so didn't make for a comfortable night sleep. Could have also benefited from a quilt (only has some blankets) so I wouldn't had to rely on the heater so much. - still overall worth going for short cheap stays in a brilliant locale. Ran out of hot water, and had to wait well over an hour for it to heat back up - everyone must of hit it at the same time in the hotel. They had a burnt out hairdryer still in the bathroom which when I went to use (as didn't know was broken) it stunk the room out. There really should have been a note about that if they couldn't actually remove the attachment. First room, tiny bathroom, not able to sit on toilet forward facing, lumpy bed. Very limited facilities. Nothing. Not enough power points - need one near bed to plug phone charger into. No shampoo. The windows were dirty. We were on level 2 - and stayed Friday and Saturday, so the music outside didn't stop til around 3am. But didn't matter TOO much because we were exhausted each night. Also - the drain in the bathroom smelled really bad :( But again, wasn't too bad when we closed the bathroom door, just annoying when we had to use the bathroom and shower. The lighting in the hallway outside our room was too dim. There was no hot water the day we left!. shower had a little mold. Take hotel up on their parking offer if you have a car. We didn't and got stung for $80 for parking our rental car over night. Bathroom door didn't work properly, but that's about it. If hadn't known where to look the street signage would of been missed, especially with foreign currency exchange in front of foyer. Air con was a little noisy - it did heat the room well though. We didn't find hair shampoo in the bath... light fittings;some out of order. Really dirty vents in the bathroom and also the windows. Nothing. Everything was ok. Air conditioning was a bit poor. On 4th Floor could hear Trams Crossing Elizabeth/Swanston st. Kettle in room had rusty heating element. Was a bit hard to find in the street with out using google maps. I requested and confirmed a late check out yet two different groups of staff members tried to get I to my room. Lucky for the extra latch on the door as I was naked when a man tried to come in. The only other problem was the heater in the room didn't work but that didn't bother me too much as I was only in there to sleep. This stupidly small sign under cash exchange sign. Nothing to complain about @ $135 per night for a triple room on Swanston St. Very noisy in the night. Condition works not very good - always was too cold and we could not made it warmer, also it blows to the bed. It was impossible to sleep with condition turned on. Very dirty window, and also we could not open it. Reception is closed from 8pm-8am (next morning) and no body to contact. We couldn't get a taxi to the door, we had to carry luggage. very slow cold water in shower, street noise. the noise of the trams/ street noise during the night but not much can be done about that!!. nothing. bathroom too small to sit on the toilet properly should have double glazing to block out the cold and trams fridge noise woke me up.
