There was a pleasant atmosphere and the big space of the reception area was inviting. My room was very clean, lovely and modern. The Bathroom was also very modern and of a good size. I requested to have a quiet room which was accomodated. It was good to have a small desk as well for working purposes. There was plenty of storage. The big, round lights in the bar/bistro created a warm atmosphere and they were also lit during the day. I have also stayed at the Ibis in Brisbane, and I have been imp.
all reviews » The front desk staff were excellent. So helpful. We were in Melbourne looking for a flat for our daughter so had some paperwork to do. Staff did some photocopying and faxing for us and it was no trouble for them.(We had our own laptop and internet) We needed a carpark and were able to have one. I n a visit a few weeks before the weather was very hot and they gave us an iceblock and cold drink on our return from house hunting. Very thoughtful-full marks. We will certainly visit again. we are very satisfied with below points 1) Location, very convenient to the Queen Victoria market 2) Easy to access to free city touring bus and thus to all the palces of interests in Melbourne 3) Service is excellent. Once we arrive the hotel at midnight, the reception Mr. Alberto was very professional. Although it's a 3 star hotel, but I think the service is 5 star. 4) Very clean. Reception staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Location was very central to transport, Queen Victoria Markets and an easy walk to the main entertainment areas. Room was well appointed and cleaning was excellent. Main foyer was being upgraded but disruption was minimal. Room charge was good value. The location was really close to Etihad which is where we needed to go to for a Concert and because we travelled from the North (Wangaratta) we did not have to travel through the city. Location was good, nice and close to Queen Victoria Market and walking distance to the CBD. Not the prettiest part of the city but never a dull moment and still a great location! Very comfortable rooms and quite recently updated (we stayed in the two bedroom apartment). Convenient location for public transport, or walking to shops. Staff was very accommodating. Arrived at the hotel at 10am and were able to check in, even though normally check in isn't til 2pm. Were able to store luggage after check out til later in the day. super easy check in and check out, great friendly staff and clean comfortable facilities. Walking distance to the city and easy access to trams if you're not inclined to walk! Markets are a few steps away and the Old Melbourne Gaol is just around the corner. Had a fantastic stay. There wasn't a kettle/jug in the room so the reception gave me another ... which wasn't working unfortunately. The tv remote channel buttons weren't working which also got swapped out, but the staff were very polite and helpful. Tv didnt have OneHD which is very unusual. Bathroom tile grout was a little grubby. Maybe provide a few biscuits. I am supposed to say..... Nothing. -Building seems to a little old -Noise can be an issue due to thin walls and nearby traffic. sofa bed was quite uncomfortable not really suited as an extra bed. Lack of carparking. that it rained. Car park was a little tricky to move in and out of. No lift from the car park to foyer for my disabled mother. Car parking - very narrow opening to parking area. Difficult to get out of particularly. No lift to parking area. None. No cooking facilities, although this wasn't too much of an issue. Couldn't work out the tv ! - not that it mattered as we weren't in our room for extended periods of time - busy out enjoying Melbourne. We had 3 in our room but only two towels provided - we took the liberty of grabbing a third from the housekeeping trolley outside our room just after check in - so no problem realy. The 1.5% surcharge for credit card use. Negotiating stairs to/from car parking with luggage was a little difficult. A few more choices for breakfast would be nice (cheese, coldcuts etc.). Tight and narrow underground garage. No way to adjust the TV screen. Boring coffee cups. Good size mugs and coffee would make a big difference. Poor TV reception. was expecting a much spacious place for 5 guest accomodation. I cannot think of anything negative. internet charges are a bit high.lack of coordination at the reception, guess, it was because of the renovation.nobody to help you with your lugguage, everyone is busy somewhere somehow. Asking if I wanted to change rooms next morning. No carving/bread knives. Service at the bistro was very slow. poor lighting one lamp not working clock radio on wrong time no comfy chair no mugs no wine glasses. The constant drone of the air conditioning all through the night. When having checked out and waiting around lack of comfortable or suitable chairs in reception area. Although it was generally clean there was a bit of black scunge/mildew around bathroom tap and tiles in shower. Air-conditioning: couldn't get it cool, couldn't get it warm, was hard to maintain comfortable temperature. Bed: mattress dipped, whole bed moved when sat on, bed linen was constantly coming apart. No "welcome package" - couldn't work out how to order room service, find local services, etc. aircanditioning in the room was very hot we and the staff were unable to alter the setting the temperature in the room at times was terrible ranging from 24.5 to 22.5 it would be good if the rooms were able to be adjusted individually we were told that this is not the case.
