I have stayed at Fiona's multiple times for business and generally found the staff very friendly and obliging. Rooms are well appointed and pleasing to the eye. It is in a fantastic spot, very close to the centre of town yet tucked away from traffic and with lovely city views. A lovely cooked breakfast (bacon, tomato and egg) is provided along with all the usual continental options. I keep returning despite its problems because its good points outweigh the bad.
all reviews » The location is great. Within easy walking distance to city shops, hotels and restaurants. Natalie, the receptionist was absolutely wonderful! Nothing was too much trouble and she gave us an extremely warm welcome! I had stayed there twice before in 2008. It was the first time for my 2 sisters and they were very impressed with the location, Natalie's service and the breakfast in the morning. Everything was beautiful. The furnishings with lovely lounge area. Lovely comfortable bed. Good size bathroom with everything you could want even toothbrushes. The breakfast the next morning was very generous and tasty served in a lovely dining room. It was also nice and quiet. This is the best place to stay in Launceston have an excellent experience ,Breakfast was cooked to perfection right in from of me. Fionas B& B set the standard for other businesses to follow well done I'm impressed. The staff, especially Natalie, were lovely and very helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. And Fiona's is very close to the city so you do have to take the car unless you want to. Room was clean and comfortable, so was the bed. Breakfast was really good. Parking was not a problem. Just a short walk to shops. Heart of Launceston. Drive to wine country, coast. It has it all. Location was excellent with off street parking. Breakfast was very generous and really lovely. The location was excellent for walking into Launceston and being in the thick of the shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was reasonable. Free WIFI, nice breakfast, room with oriental design, good parking space, large and comfortable bed. Closeness to shopping strip breakfast is excellent. Nothing. It is common for the rooms to have some minor problems e.g. stiff shower door; a musty smell; although staff are generally obliging if you have any problems. Some rooms are not well heated and electric blankets are not supplied (only a problem in winter). As far as I am aware, there is only one unit that doesn't require you to walk up stairs either for access, or to get to the bedrooms which could be a problem for some. Not much to dislike. Maybe it is a little hidden from the main road and the driveway could be a little better maintained. Nothing. There was no laundry facilities. Nothing. Can't think of anything. Room decore dated. The pillows - could not find a soft one!. church bells during the night. 1. Washroom can be maintained better, no hangers on the wall or door at all. Nothing not to like. The table in the room we had needs replacing for a 4* place there should be no damaged furniture in the room Also the frige cupboard had a piece cut off to put the frige in and could have been better finished off. The only thing missing was a dining table and chairs. The lounge suite needs re-webbing. We both sank very low and was difficult to get out of again. Nothing, everything was A1+. Carpets were a bit stained and old. None. Can't think of anything. Some of the tables etc were coming apart and need fixing. all good. The fridge was off and hot, so could not store our drinks. The hill. If anything, I could have done without listening to Evita at breakfast!. all good. Missing our full breakfast!. The sheets were unfortunately musty smelling and the place was not as clean as it should have been. Just felt like the final finishing touches were not there. There was also no 'real' coffee offered for breakfast, although four varieties of instant. weak WIFI signal, very cold in the bathroom. We had a ground floor suite a lot of noise from suite above would ask for room on first floor or ground floor with no room on top needs better insulation for people with heavy feet. The rooms had little or no insulation. We thought the people in the room above we're going to fall through the floor. A person in the room next door could be heard snoring all night. Another guest upstairs flushed the toilet and it sounded as though our room was going to be flooded. Terrible. We have stayed in many b&bs and this is one of the worst ever.
