Lovely, comfortable, relaxing and tastefully decorated room. I had stayed here for the first time on a drive to Sydney from Adelaide a couple of months ago - on the drive back a few days ago, my return stay was something to look forward to and after that long drive and it didn't disappoint!. Lovely accommodation with self-catering facilities so we had a leisurely breakfast before starting our day. We found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. Hay is a small town far from everywhere but with an amazing history and a very active Historical Society.

We always stay at Bishop's Lodge and were one of the first couple to stay there when it was first built. My wife and I were pleasantly. Surprised with all aspects of the motel.n Normally we would be staying in big city hotels on holidays, so this was totally different. Room was spotless and the dinning room and food was excellent. Was very well apointed room clean and bed very confortable . The staff where friendly and helpful and had a great stay. Very little noise for being so close to a main road would stay again when in the area. The motel has a great restrauant with an excellent selection of options for all courses. The food was beautifully cooked. A good range of wine was on offer and both food and drink at reasonable prices. Room and facilities as new. Very clean. Management were very friendly and supportive. The restuarant was great and the meals were fantastic. We would return just for the food!. After arriving tired and hungry we were greeted by the wonderful owners and we had a magnificent meal.The owner is a 5 star chef and he also cooked our breakfast in the morning. Very pleasant experience from the moment we checked in. Owners/ staff were both friendly and helpful. Room surpassed our expectations. Locality ideal for overnight occupants. Stayed here a couple of times in ten days due to family sickness in another state and found everything great. Superb comfort and very friendly, helpful owners. Close to Highway which was handy but no noise from traffic. Unusual to find such modern rooms and furnishings in an Oz bush motel! Equally rare to find gourmet dining!. Although the motel is 2 years old, you might think that it has just opened. The room was spotlessly clean. Can chose to eat in at their restaurant or a nearby small pub. Good size rooms. Unable to serve oneself with a meal within the room due to lack of crockery & cutlery. The mini bar was empty. When we tried to book just another couple of weeks later to attend the funeral we couldn't get a good price. We rang the owners but were refused a reduction, so had to look for another motel. All good - nothing to not like!. Pillows were on the hard side. that is the only negative. I think they need to get pillows that are softer. Out of town a little. Nothing. the meals were a bit expensive, could have had more for children and priced for family. It is close to the highway so there was some truck noise, but not too bad. Communication regarding an alteration to booking some time previous to booking was difficult. lousy shower , bathroom heater light surround fell to floor . All good no issues. No dislikes. Nothing. The WIFI signal was quite weak. The traffic noise and unclean ensuite. when booking was shown motel nearly fully booked . however on the night there seemed too be only a few customers staying I am off the opinion that pre booking was not too my advantage. A bit pricey. Wi-if was advertised as free but could not be accessed in our room. This was very disappointing for us. We then approached the receptionist whose response was that she didnt really care.
