Really friendly reception staff, nice comfortable room with nice balcony, good bed and overall a good place to stay. Excellent location on the esplanade and ideal for a walk. Nearby enough to bars/restaurants but far enough away that you don't get the noise. Breakfast was really well done and once again, the member of staff in the restaurant for breakfast was excellent. Have stayed at the hotel since it was "Tuna Towers". Location, price & standard of accommodation suited us well. Generally has maintained the level of comfort we have come to expect.
all reviews » Really friendly greeting on arrival. Staff were all great. Refurbished since my last stay and the room was really lovely. The refurbished rooms were great, and spacious too. The location is good, just outside of the busy part of town. Very clean and comfortable room with large lounge and separate bedroom both with balconies gear ocean views. The friendliest staff! So helpful! Nice new rooms! Perfect location! Breakfast was excellent!. Stayed in Rm 606 which was lovely. They've got rid of the spa, the internet connection is very slow (I think this is a regional problem, not the hotel's). The outside appearance, the sign of the hotel is outdated and shabby, as is the no vacancies sign, but the place is bright and pleasant inside. The restaurant doesnt seem to do much trade, but thats because there is so much competition. Are all hotel inspectors young and fit and blind to the silver grey needs. Prefer the room cooler. The noise was terrible! it was either the Elevator or water noise but it was noisy all the time. The shower screen was way to small so water went everywhere, what a stupid set up that was. Damn smokers filled the floor up with their darn smelly cigarette smoke. Saying the motel doesn't allow smoking in rooms then leaving ashtrays on the verandah is useless, ban them altogether!. nothing, all good. Rooms needed updating, decor was a bit dated but were cleaned daily. the very loud early morning wake up call that the pipes of the next bedroom gave us. must have an airlock in them, but very loud and annoying. Share laundry. no complaints. A couple of bathroom design flaws flagged to management when we left. We can acess the internet only at the lobby, there is no option for use at the room. Dining room was not available for lunch or dinner. The noisy cleaning lady who started making noise at 6 am banging crashing coughing slamming doors. Shame when we were there 3 nights and would have loved a sleep in. Couldn't she wait until people leave rooms?? With floor boards corridor noise is really bad. Wifi was only available on groung floor and had quite a lot of connection problems as well. Lack of facility for smokers of any kind. Our bathroom really needed to be updated. We would like iinternet in the room. Our room overlooked the Hostel which was noisey at night. on 6th floor there was low frequency noise that caused me lack of sleep. Also knocking noise from the elevator. the backpackers next door and the traffic. Very bad WiFi signal in room- impossible to connect!!!. A couple of reception staff were not so helpful. The room was quite small and the bathroom old fashioned. No in-house movies or DVD player available. I travelled with a group of friends, and we stayed in two rooms. The rooms were the same price, but one with two double beds while the other only had a double and a single. We weren't advised when I called to extend the booking a day earlier that the restaurant was not operational during our stay and since we were with our elderly parents this was a major inconvenience as this is one of the reasons we stay here. The convenience of not having to go out to dine. The desk didnt not pick up my calls when I called from my room The entrance area is a bit too simple and can create a negative first impression. For example the plastic chairs. As I stay in your hotel twice every month at around $85 to $95 and the last time I was booking in on line the cost was $119 so I booked at another hotel. There should be a better rate for frequent clients. Uncomfortable couch, no evening meal. Pretty old decor and run down a little but ok for a night if you just want a room.
