My husband had just had knee surgery. The managers did everything they could to make it easier for him, including moving us downstairs and letting us use their freezer for ice packs. We loved the old charm of the place and felt very welcome and at home. It was so close to the city. We drove everywhere. Easy to find a free parking space. Really quiet suburbian area. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
all reviews » Able to book in early, friendly and helpful staff. No noise from traffic. Different pillows so was able to select one that suited me. Good selection of breakfast foods. Close to the bus stop, only 15 mins into the town centre. Local shops within easy walking distance. the owners/Ray were courteous and always willing to help. The friendly chat over breakfast, including Ray, in a very relaxed atmosphere was great. Highly recommended. Rooms were clean and included everything needed to make your stay noteworthy. We really felt that the Lodge was fabulously quirky and quaint. We were made to feel very welcome and it had a lovely hominess to it. We enjoyed eating our lunch with a nice cold beer out in the courtyard. Would recommend to our friends. The whole place had a great feel, it was clean and well cared for. A very comfortable mattress (apparently new in every room) Short walk to river jet cat and Powerhouse and markets. Just loved the place. Friendly staff. We will be back. For what we wanted to do in Brisbane the location was perfect. We walked to local restaurants and craft beer establisments and the CityCat terminal was 5 minutes walk. The bed was super comfy when we got back at night. The lodge was very convenient for outing in valley precinct. Close to local shops cafés' etc. Enjoyed a morning walk around New Farm Park. Close to both city cat & cross river ferry. Will stay again. Ray was extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. Close to New Farm Park. Walk to tons of good food. Access to CBD in five minute drive, or access to public transit in minutes. Excellent location. 5 minutes from the city cat to take your into brisbane city centre. Only 5 minutes walk to shops, bars and great restaurants. Will defo be staying again next time we are over. You can hear people in other rooms. Didn't really detract from our stay though. The bathrooms will need updating but there were workmen around and it was obvious that improvements were being made. Only had bread with grains or fruit would have liked wholemeal or white bread. nothing to add to this column. Lock/handle on door needed to be fixed (it is loose). Broken tile in pieces in centre of bathroom. The room that I was in could have used a dresser or luggage rack. No place to put your suitcase. Nothing to say here. There was no hairdryer or iron in our room - although I'm sure if we asked the staff would have provided these. Could't get the music channels working on the T V. Some noise issues within the lodge. Could hear conversations in the hallway outside the room. Breakfast area was okay, utilitarian but not enticing, though we're sure with time they'll get this area looking great. nothing. Not my usual style of accommodation but it was still comfortable. we didn't like the fact that when my husband used the toilet it had urine it in and the smell was terrible. We are professional cleaners so that didn't go down to well. Also there was lots of dust on furniture.
