  For short overnight stays, it is ideal, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The standard of accommodation, although quite good, does not meet the standard of the staff themselves, or the reception area.   Very friendly and helpful even to a point of locking our key in the room at five o'clock in the morning and being helped out by a lovely lady.   Hay Street Backpackers unlike many Backpackers in the big Australian cities were very clean and well organized, close to all the places that we were needed. I recommend it to everyone who wants stop in Perth. - All of the staff were lovely. The facilities were very clean and functional. Every thing I needed was very close by.   I found the location very good, its away from the night life on James street, so the noise is less noisy on the weekends!, i actually extended my stay until the 2nd July. The staff were very nice everyone and very helpful :) I would say this is probably the most cleanest and safest backpacking hostel in Perth! I would stay here again for sure! - ... what people say » I like the people who man the reception office. They are professional - friendly & helpful esp Anthea & John. I visited other places whilst there, Emp Crown still tops the list and it is value for money. And also ec thank you for granting my request! Esp giving me the room in the women's dorm & lower bunk.
