Totally amazing Concierge staff - pay them double! The welcome when we drove up was unbeliavable. Check in was warm, but not the same as those guys out the front working in the heat. Because we were travelling on our own, my sister and I were given twin rooms each ... disappointing as this was my first opportunity to have a queen bed to myself for "long" time! Beautiful property and wonderful staff.
all reviews » We had a great comfortable room with a view over the parklands. Fantastic breakfast and great pool for relaxing,well maintained. The hotel is centrally located which made it easy to walk to Rundle Mall to do some shopping and sightseeing. Staff were very friendly. Efficient and personable front office staff. Shower was very poor. Water flow highly restricted. Choice of tea and coffee in room could be better. I booked a room with a large bed but got one with 2 beds instead (felt lonely) Had no slippers in the room The mini bar was half full The movie rentals are quite expensive ($18.95/movie?!). Room furniture was sparse - no coffee table, only one bedside table for two beds, only one spare blanket for two beds. Sorting out how the lights worked was surprisingly difficult.The view was of blank walls and a carpark. No issues. It is a bit expensive for us when we've already spent $100 on a tank of petrol to even get to adelaide. pokies room need overhaul as with machines. Need better reading lights. The new rooms have property reading lights. The last room had one light between the beds and no ceiling lights. could not fault our stay at the stamford. We were a mature couple who had booked a queen size bed. We were given two doubles but as we prefer to be together that wasn't much use. We also had only one armchair for the two of us for six days which was not very comfortable. There was a desk chair but again only one so if you wanted to sit and eat at the bench only one could do it at a time. The only thing again regarding the non servicing of the room was that I would have preferred the bin was emptied. Nothing; everything was great. Honestly can't think of anything I didn't like. There's not much parking available. First in, first served. We stayed here in 2010 and the room had a slightly tired feel to it. However on our return in 2013 we discovered that absolutely nothing had been done and it had a decidedly tired look to it, in dire need of a makeover. The lobby and entrance area was very dark. Cost of parking. Piano Bar was too busy for single staff member. expensive mistake made when checking out - valet parking added to my bill but didn't have a car. No views. We wern't there long enough to find any faults. Bathroom looked tired, some cracked tiles and grout / silicone needs touch up. TV and phone in room weren't working properly - not a big deal. Very little support for vegetarians. Found it difficult to adjust the temperature control in my room. My room was close to the lift and therefore late retiring customers were very noisy. I was on the 11th floor on the 15/3 and 16/3. My sleep was disturbed by the music from the concert held near the station. It didn't stop until 2am. I changed rooms on the first night (1102) but the air handling unit situated on the building outside this room rattled. From the folio in the room it appears that the carparking system used to be for free and easier to access. You should consider going back to that system. For adelaide carpark fee it's bit expensive... The ability to determine whether the booking was twin share or a queen/king bed could of been better. Also a price list of the mini bar somewhere would of been good. Being charged $24 for wireless internet access in my room for 24 hrs. This is outrageous in today's modern information age. Very low water pressure in the shower. Noisy guests,parking fees have risen sharply.
