I especially liked the extra large size of the room. I liked having the mini-bar and snacks in the room, even though I only bought a couple of items, also all the little extras in the bathroom and kitchen. Staff were friendly and helpful. The small smoking balcony was appreciated. Breakfast was excellent. It was probably the best place I've enjoyed out of my last dozen or so trips. Thank you.
all reviews » The proximity of the hotel in relation to the town centre and so on. I enjoyed the stay and the friendly nature of every single member of staff I met regardless of job title. Everything was clean, tidy and inviting and comfortable. I had the best nights sleep there I have had in a long long time. Very relaxed. Hotel themed for Ashes taking place they really got involved helped us Poms interact with our hosts. Made welcome from minute 1 after long flight from UK made early check-in available. Great Aussie / English breakfast and really pleasant staff. Will be back for next tour. Staff were great. The Perfect Cup restaurant being on site was also great, its prices were budget friendly and the food was good. Its position was an easy stroll into the city and Melbourne Street itself was pleasing and had lots of food options available. Our room was extremely large so we had plenty of space. The TV was also very large. The location is easy to find and very convenient for North Adelaide. The heating was very powerful. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. The only really bad feature was the adjoining wall as I could hear every sound from the next room (I even found myself trying to be quiet because I knew I would be heard). The carpet in room 19 urgently needs a steam clean. I had problems with the room keycard, it became deactivated twice in two days. But none of these complaints are too important because overall the room and hotel were excellent. Had to leave. I was disappointed in the kitchen faciities of the apartment, considering the cost I expected a bit more. I believe the rooms themselves are in need of an upgrade!. The decor and fittings are very dated, but not uncomfortable and fine for a short stay. We struggled to find a price list for the mini bar. It may annoy some that the TV is not in the bedroom. Distance to room - bit of a rabbit warren, all getting very tired must be near its use by date. Eg carpets, paint surfaces, fittings. Very 60-70 s. The air in the breakfast area is permeated by oil from the frying of bacon etc. Something should be done about that. The breakfast itself is overpriced for what it is. Although the location is very pleasant it would not suit those wanting to be in the heart of the city as it is about 20 minutes on foot, or 5-10 minutes by bus. Lack of consistency from room to room. 2nd stay same room type, the room this time was far less well maintained. Not as nice a view as I expected. maybe a basic breakfast could have been included in the price. sliding door to balcony needs new track wheels ,(nearly got stuck outside!) but have alerted staff and I'm sure they will attend to this. When other guests got up in the morning, the noise of flushing water down the pipes close to our room was loud. The toilet bowl was very dirty, we cleaned a bit ourselves. The breakfast staff assumed we had prior knowledge of how things worked. Nothing here worth discussing. I regularly stay there and would like to see some reward scheme operating. Limited parking. A bit noisey, room service was cold on arrival. Some staff a bit surly. Corridoors need some work done to clean them up. fittings wearing out, sliding door handle loose, basin tap ware loose on vanity, very noisy air conditioner. small bathroom toilet and shower togeather received kid meals for adult price no clock no tv guide. the pillows were quite hard couldnt get comfy but in saying that if we took our own wouldve been very happy. Jug didn't on arrival at 11 o clock the electrics were out of date It would. Be nice to be waited on at the restaurant Room service came at 3 pm which wasn't very suitable. No tv in bedroom, only in loungeroom. No bottle opener in room. Room service wasn't available at 5 pm as advertised and we required light meal prior to attending function. Website says free bus service to city however its not within walking distance for a disabled person like my husband. No cutlery or plates in our room. Room was not clean, air conditioner filter was filthy & we had to clean it so that it would work properly. Air filter in bathroom was also filthy. Room service facilities were to limited as to hours of availability. Pool needs to be made more private. (No landscaping). For a 'Kitchenette' - it lacked facilities!! NO cutlery (except 2 teaspoons) NO crockery (except 2 mugs, 2 glasses, 2 wine glasses) NO Microwave or toaster NO chopping board ONLY a bar frig - would have been ok if it wasn't stuffed with drinks A very awkward space to use. 10:00am Check out. beds and pillows were very hard we both ended up with painfull necks and shoulders which lasted for another 3 days after checkout. Looking rather dated. It ended up being an expensive car park (but that was my fault). We had been booked in for several hours when another guest entered the room with an access card. Reception staff had booked them into the same room. reception then rang us and said "sorry about that", but then our access card wouldn't work when we wanted to get into the room. Poor apology for an invasion of our privacy!!!. prices were on the high side, no breakfast included in price. Kitchenette could do with some attention,. Poor quality room, fridge froze everything, nothing done about the problem. Awful room. very poor motel like accommodation which was very over priced. In need of full refurbishment. Could hear every shower and toilet being used hard to sleep!!. Had to wait over 15mins to book in, When I went to bed I found blood all over my sheets complained the brought up a spare sheet then left so I had to remake the bed myself. Ordered food in the restaurant and the mixed up my order. Then when I booked out someone had charged things to my room so had to get a refund on it. This is the first time I have every written a review but the overall service was just so poor. I will never and will tell all my friends to never ever stay there.
