They do not have elevator, the internet is only in the lobby and the breakfast is too simple, but almost all of this are cited in the hotel description. So, I recomend this hotel because it was exactly I expected. My bad grade to the cleaness was because of the bathrooms. However, it happens because of the guests (some people do not know how to share a bathroom without leave everything dirty), not due to hotel team. The room is cleaned every day, and the hotel have new painting and clean halls . όλα τα σχόλια »
Friendly guys at reception, possibility to leave suitcase there after check-out (for $4), there was even breakfast included in the price (very very basic though, but all I need in the morning is a coffee to get me going :-), easy to meet fellow travellers (the people staying there were all really communicative and friendly and interesting to talk to) in the lounge, which is the only place to get free wifi on your mobile or laptop in the hostel.
For the money the value can't be beat! Location is fantastic and
close to everything Chelsea has to offer. Joe's Coffee, Chelsea
Highline, easy Subway access 1,2,3 Many Europeans and area is really
safe. Again it is a hostel not up to European standards but for the
money amazing! Luggage storage is free before 14:00/ 2 P.M. after
that $4.00 a bag. We will stay again....
The location is great. Walking distace to many of the main attractions and the subway only 2 blocks away. Lots of green space close by including the Highline park.
Reasonably priced food nearby too.
It's a pretty basic hostel but all you need is a clean safe place to lay your head at night and the Chelsea Highline fit that bill and more.
It was clean and simple. There were sheets, a towel for each person, air
conditioner, sink in the room, reading lamp, mirror; shared bathroom was
not bad; people were brief, clean and considerate. Many guests were
European; made me think Europeans are accustomed to more sparse hotels.
location, price. staff all excellent rooms clean with towells provided. staff acknowledge guests and are genuine nice friendly people, having wi fi in lobby brings people together. near hudson river great. many bars & great food nearby. loved it,. this hostel was clean, quiet and affordable. the staff gave me excellent dining advice. initially, i was nervous about some bad reviews that i saw online. they indicated that the hostel was still under construction. nothing of the sort! brilliant stay, highly recommend it.
The location is really good - nice neighborhood. The hostel is really clean, bathrooms very descent and new, room was just enough with a sink (two people in the room). I would recommend this hostel and would stay for my next visit in NYC.
The room and common areas were clean. We needed an extra
blanket and the staff provided one. There were also electric heaters in the room. We needed them and appreciated that they were provided. For NYC this was a good deal.
Great location. A ten minute walk to the 23rd Street station. Peter and the rest of the staff at CHH were fantastic and accommodated my tight schedule while in town. Free breakfast.
It was the right price and the right location. Easy to get to. Great access to all that Chelsea has to offer. Garage parking is available around the corner for a reasonable price.
The hostel was helpful, friendly, and convenient. I liked the two-person room, instead of six in other hostels. I also liked the location and especially the morning breakfasts.
Location was very good. Also very good value for money for Manhattan.
Staff were quite friendly and helpful. I appreciated that they held our
baggage securely on our last daay.
This is Hotel is very nice and very good. I really liked the hotel very much. Staff is also very nice and will help you when in need. Thanks for all the support.
they offer breakfast, which is very rare in nyc. there were 4 bathrooms on my floor, so at least one of them was always vacant. walking distance to the village.
The staff was great, Argiles and Pe were very easy going :D
Easy to find, clean, good situation, walking to 5th avenue 20 min
Very good for the money you pay.
We could walk home from Time Square.
It's a few blocks from where our Megabus to Boston stops/departs.
Really nice bagels and muffins for breakfast.
The location of the hostel was great! A bus stop only 1 minute walking from the hostel.Mostly young people were accommodated there.
Everything is good about this hotel, it would have been a five star if
it wasn't for the awful (for pay) wifi internet connection.
Clear, nice hotel in center of Manhattan! perfect location, safe district and good rooms.good WiFi on the first floor)
i liked it!.
Friendly staff, nice bathrooms, close to subway and nightlife
Would definitely recommend to stay there. It's simple but fun.
It's a great deal to stay there. Close connections to the public
transportation and compare to hotels way cheaper.
Chelsea Highline and Market nearby is a great advantage. Quite hostel in a quite area close to nice neighborhoods.
Good location just across the street from Chelsea Highline and Chelsea
Pier even if a bit far from subway.
I liked the staff. They were friendly. The location was also nice. For this price everything was good.
Very Clean and comfortable. I quite enjoyed the stay. Value for money
and friendly staff.
It was exactly as it was presented - no luxury at all but clean. Ok for the money.
location, price, clean and comfort enough. PC with printer in lobby can be useful.
incredible helpful and nice staff. very very clean and neat. great location.
friendly staff especially the dude in white fit shirt, perfect quiet location.
close to the clubbing district of nyc
clean
great service with lugage.
Large rooms, good cleaning crew and of course the price.
Great value, clean, friendly staff, great location.
Great Chelsea location 50 meters off Highline.
Comfortable beds, air con, free breakfast.
It's clean and the location is very good.
location, room cleanliness, sink in room.
Proximity to where I needed to be.
location is its prime advantage.

clean. How can I complain about a room for $15 in Chelsea / Manhattan? Granted there was no hot water (apparently a perpetual complaint) but for this price I was glad to even HAVE water!. I received excellent advice from the staff on dinning and the surrounding area. The staff was supportive when I got a cold, too. Offering breakfast in an excellent location makes this hostel a very good cost-benefit choice. Bathroom number was not a problem if I searched in another floor for vacant rooms. The 24h desk and the luggage storage room was also very convenient. I'd stay there again.
No internet in the room.
No elevator.
(all of this are cited in the hotel description)
Breakfast not good.
When I came there my bed hadn't been made and the bedsheets hadn't been changed - this might be because the girl who was staying in that room before me checked out late. Showers sometimes not too clean but this is because fellow travellers don't make an effort to leave the bathroom in a state they've found it in.
For light sleepers, it may be difficult. Bed is not so comfy so bring a
sleeping bag to lay on for more cushion. You can hear the door slamming
when guests return or use the toilets. We stayed in Room 222 so noise
would have been worse- if we didn't use the air conditioner. Also
bathroom use can be difficult since there are only a few! Peak time is
impossible. Staff is friendly but not overly friendly it's just
business not personal.
Condition of shared bathroom depends on your fellow travellers. Most people are great, others???.
First night was a bunk bed experience; somewhat cramped and rocked when
person in upper bunk moved.
sometimes a long wait for bathroom, also as i arrived by car it cost signifigantly more to park car in same area, ha its nyc ny,. none. .
No tea/coffee/hot water facilities during a day, just for the time of breakfast.
No elevator...I had a heavy luggage, fortunately guy from the staff helped me to bring it upstairs.
It would be nice to have real milk for coffee, rather than powdered stuff. Otherwise the basic breakfast (coffee and bagel or muffin) was ok.
At a busy intersection. If your bedroom windows don't close all the way and you're in a street-facing room I hope you're a heavy sleeper.
I didn't think the staff was particularly friendly. Bathrooms were single person, and this meant that it was hard to get to the toilet. Also, the single stalls meant that they weren't that clean. It would be easier to clean dorm-style bathrooms with several toilets and showers, etc.
I didn't like the fact that I was quoted a fee of $125 for the entire stay and was actually charged $153. I was told that there were fees and taxes, but these charges were not cited to me on-line. I also thought that I was being charged $125 for four days (which is $31 per day), but instead l paid $51 per day for a three day stay. That's a considerable difference.
It was a bit noisy with traffic and rooms are a bit basic (a comfortabel
chair would have been a huge help). However, it was significantly better
and cheaper than another hostel I stayed in in Manhattan so well worth
the money!.
one bathroom was dirty, although the other 3 on the floor were neat. I guess it is impossible to keep all of them clean all the time anyway.
Breakfast was too early.
Couldn't connect to free Wifi.. only the pay one. only available in the Lobby.
Dirty bathrooms.
The paid internet connection ($2.99 per day/$7.99 For three days)
was extremely slow (felt like lte speed or 56k). The connection would
drop every 30 mins. And none of my phone apps would connect (Skype,
What'sapp, Gmail, Weather, GoogleMaps, etc), only basic web surfing
(no YouTube videos).
Rooms are poorly soundproofed.
2Nd morning they had deliver problems with the bagels and muffins. So no
breackfast. I think it's possible to order from another bakery.
Restrooms.
No kitchen or comfortable common space to meet others. Pay $5 per 24
hours for wifi.
It didn't have a bar to have a drink or socialize.
No internet access in the rooms, but this can be good because people have to come to the lobby and there you can talk to new people.
I was on the 3rd floor and the wifi was not working. The Cleaners did a
very good job of keeping the place clean, especially the toilets but
they were a bit noisy at times. I could hear the traffic from my room
would be nice if there was some way to cancel out the noise.
The room was very hot.
breakfast is very funny: bagel with butter and coffee.
you should ask a room far from entry door and restroom door, because of can be noisy.
stairs no elevator but for this price it was still great.
door keys doesn't work sometimes, no elevator.
Lack of hygiene of some guests. An exterior paint and a marquee would
be nice too.
Bunk beds; side-by-side twins were better.
Bathrooms a little messy.
Some staff are nice, some staff are a bit more dry, but the overall experience is good.
doors slam shut, and the hallways echo, so you are kept up by slamming doors through the night and early morning.
shared bathrooms at times were not well cleaned.
N/A.
Comfort, 11th Avenue like a ghost town at night.
Too hot in the lobby.
Too Hot
No check-in until 4 PM.
No free wi-fi in rooms.
the muffins.
Little far away from the subway station. Squeakiest bunk bed frame of all time, but again, who can complain about that (maybe my roommate). In the hostel it was written "wi-fi for the 4th floor available", but it was not working, and the staff didn't care about it. Action movies in the lobby almost every morning and evening was just too much (it showed some improvement upon complain). Things could be better if checked or if the staff conducted a survey.
