This place is a 90 year old hotel and it wears it well. It's elevator is a clicketly-clack apparatus with a scissor gate-that you have to hold the floor number for a couple of seconds to roll- did I feel safe using it? Yes. Did I think it added to the ambiance? Absolutely. The hotel obviously has had infrastructure,safety and comfort improvements

The Abigail hotel was comparatively inexpensive, basic accommodation but
quirky and my room was clean and provided a comfortable bed, clean linen
and towels, a bay window overlooking the Museum of Asian Art and a
compact bathroom. Loved the lift!

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in mid November. I have seen people raise there eyebrows when they learn this hotel is situated in Tenderloin area (which is considered a bit shady area). I too was reluctant to stay there but post my stay I experienced that it was not that badly located. Means this hotel on eddy street which is very near to Van

Staff is very friendly, location of the hotel is very good, just 15 minute-
walk to market street, also if you have car, car park is very good and
also there is a door between the car park and the rooms for the
security(it's openned by the reception). The area is not secure
especially at night but there are two routes which you can reach at the

There is no negative thing i would mention.
The room was new and clean. Breakfest ok. Really good position of the hotel is just perfect (about 10min to the Town Hall)! The park place is small but all the guests found a place while we were there.
And finally yes, there are some homeless people arround the hotel, but we didn´t feel uncomfortable or
