Yak Hostel was a great hostel, only 15 walking minutes to the independence square. The hostel is situated on the 16th floor of business building, therefore we had an impressive view over the whole city, some rooms had direct view on the Olympic stadium. Everything was great.
Make a note: you need to know where to look for the place: you make turn into a yard and then go down on the right side of that yard to get into an inner yard all the way on the back.

The staff in this hostel provided an excellent service and answered all of our questions and queries in a polite and helpful way! They went out of their way to help us. Plus, their English was really amazing.
The hygiene and cleanliness of the hostel was also excellent.
The hostel had a very cosy, homely feel to it and provided many facilities for travellers.

Comfortable temperature in the room (not stuffy)

Very good hostel, one of the best what i stayed. Stuff very friendly, all girls what was at reception, and all people in cafe (nice food btw!) was really friendly, nice and proffessional. We booked room for 2 people with privat bathroom, room was really nice, clean. Good design inside. Location in the heart of old Kiev center, i was really amased

It is an almost perfect hostel. It is very well organised and run. The girls on reception are friendly and polite, especially Myrna. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The location is great and if you prefer not to walk up the steep hill to the old town, the metro is 5-mins away and very cheap. The food in the cafe was great and well priced. The service was a little slow but the staff were friendly. I had a great time here and is definitely one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in in ov

Price quite good, location is excellent. It's near metro, and bus/trolleybus stops. The best route to the center is trolleybus, cause u can observe the streets, quantity of people not big, and the cost is 1.5 UAH (about 0.15 eurocents, also exciting). The reception girls are very friendly and beautiful (as all others in Ukraine) -

This is a very well located hostel about 5 mins walk to Main Square and in a bustling neighbourhood with good restaurants and bars. The rooms and beds were bright and spacious just like the pictures and very quiet ensuring we all got a good nights sleep. -

The hostel's location is easy walking distance to the city centre. The staff were great; the floor of my room was a little dirty and when I mentioned this, the lady on reception was there to clean it herself within a couple of minutes. Plenty of very good showers.
