Staff very accommodating, fantastic value for the money - lovely (if a wee bit old and tired) room with very carefully thought out details such as quality hot chocolate as well as tea and coffee in the room (with real cream for the drinks - not powered stuff). Hair dryer, TV etc. Great location to walk about York, on site parking too. Classy place,
... τι λέει ο κόσμος » peaceful, lovely grounds. A winner. - The hotel is in a great location within the city walls and provides free parking. It is quirky in layout, yet has a very cosy feel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and hot options cooked to order. All the big attractions are within easy walking distance. Close access to walking the city walls, great views and it's free!

The staff are amazingly friendly and really made us feel welcome. Everyone was cheerful, helpful and all round nice. It felt more like a family hotel than a chain hotel (and I mean that as a positive comment.)
The pool was the perfect temperature and a good depth: it was shallow enough for my 8 year old daughter to touch the bottom, but deep enoug

with three boys, they all had their own beds
As a family of 5 we were in one room, the boys were in a separate room within our room
Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful

Pool was clean and excellent facility, especially in poor weather, towels provided
Ensuite was good sized, we have had some tiny ones in the past
We were able to open the windows to control temperature, fresh air

The staff were extremely helpful and suggested that we change our roomto meet my mother's needs (she'd hurt her foot at work and is scared oftravelling in lifts so we'd have needed to climb 6 floors to get to ourroom). They couldn't do enough to help and with the stress of Christmasthis really was a refreshing break from the norm! - travelling with

( i ordered every night of my stay). just in front of the river, i had the river veiw. it was great.

the staff from our arrival were more than helpfull, and went out there way to find us a nice resturant to eat in and made the reservation for us. the hotel and the staff were brilliant! - The location and view from our room was excellent as was the room itself. The staff were friendly and informative and the restaurant and bar were both good.

I loved everything about the hotel. Every member of staff was reallyhelpful and quite lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The bookingout time of 12 noon was realistic and breakfast between 7 and 11 wascertainly more civilised than some hotels. I would certainly staythere again. - Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern rooms

The new managers had just taken over and had many issues to deal with. They made us feel very welcome and accomodated our needs well. The hotel needs some TLC but is comfortable and the rooms were adequate for the price. Overall, a nice place to stay near to the city (15 Min) walk or bus directly outside, generous parking area. -

there was some road noise but I suspect they are in a conservation area so double glazing is not possible
