We were amazed! Not wanting the formality of a hotel and having stayed in luxury apartments in coastal resorts for our summer holidays we thought we would try The Lawrance. Only two words can described our feelings when we unlocked the door - absolutely fabulous! The location is brilliant, only five minutes walk from the station and just a little longer into the city with its shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. I would not hesitate to recommend this to any friends or relatives wanti.

We visited York with my parents & this 2-bedroom apartment suited us much better than two separate hotel rooms, as it provided a social space (kitchen, dining table, sofas and TV) Incredibly convenient for walking to key places in York; train station, the Shambles, the Minster and, highlight of the trip for my husband, the National Rail Museum. The lovely Heather at reception is also wonderfully helpful :). So nice to have your own space. When the weather turned very rainy , we had a night in with a take away, bottle of wine and DVD , can't do that in hotel room. I have written a couple of more negative comments but don't let them put you off, we will be returning and do recommend the Lawrance as possibly the best place to stay in York. Superbe design and furnishing. The family appartment is huge and extremely comfortable. Appartment appliances are great. Wifi is free. Significant reduction on Car parking fee makes it rather cheap (£10 / day). This residence has everything to make you experience a great stay in the gorgeous city of York. We liked everything about these apartments, the location, just within the city walls, meant we walked everywhere. The apartment was massive with ensuite for every bedroom and everything you could hope for in an apartment, well worth the visit. the standard was first class,we would not use any other accomodation in york ever again after trying this.it had a real xmas feel the lights in the courtyard,and tree were very festive.the location was great,the appartment was stunning.100/100. The apartment was beautifully appointed in a contemporary style and was spotlessly clean. The staff were professional and friendly. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to other adults or families with older children. The apartment was exceptional - very stylish and comfortable with all the conveniences you could possibly need. Staff were suberb, friendly and knowledgable and always ready to help. Couldn't rate the whole experience highly enough!. The apartment was very well equipped. All of the apartment and the beddings/ towels etc were immaculate. Very comfortable and within easy reach of the city. Good security too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in the centre of York is an absolute plus and the quality of the apartments is absolutely top class. Location could not have been better - simply perfect. Correspondence and staff were excellent. Being able to use the car pick up and drop off was good. Everything at The Lawrance was FANTASTIC. The attention to detail was outstanding from the corrspondence prior to arrival to the place itself. This was definitely the best accomodation I have ever stayed in!!!. Gorgeous apartment well worth the extra for a birthday treat. Even decided to get takeaways in rather than eat out, we wanted to be there some much. Well placed for a short walk into York shopping centre. The size of the apartment - it was a shame I could only stay for 2 nights. It was nice to have the option to stay in and cook. The bathroom was nice - having a walk-in rain shower and a separate bathtub. Clean, luxurious and well-designed apartments within walking distance of York city center and very close to the train station. We wanted for nothing and had a wonderful stay there. Highly recommended. lovely modern apartment and helpful information in advance. had a really good night's sleep as it was quiet and the bed was very comfy. just a few minutes walk to the centre of town, restaurants etc. superb design deluxe (penthouse) apartment. great staff who stayed out of the way unless you needed them. i have already booked a return trip. one of the nicest feeling places I've ever stayed in. The overall feel of the apartment block was lovely. The rooms themselves were very modern and felt almost brand new. good quality furnishings and equipment. Very central for exploring the city. We loved the whole design of the apartment, it was immaculate and very stylish , we loved the colour of the walls and windows , everything was just perfect and are already planning our return. The quality f the fixtures and fittings, the amount of space in our apartment ( which was more like a 1 bed house) and the heated floor in the bathroom. I loved the studio apartment as it was very comfortable & luxurious, within easy reach of yorks city centre. we liked everything about the apartment. very well equipped and reception staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent Location easy to find from station very quiet and central for all local bars and restaurants. Very cosy with a bit of charm. Ended up spending half of our weekend in there as it was warm and homely. Apartment was spacious and built with great attention to detail. We would definitely come back. I thought serviced apartments would have included a daily tidy up, especially of bins and replacing towels, it did not and we ended up bagging rubbish and asking reception to collect,which they did immediately. The apartments are very secure but the gate to enter them is particulary heavy, so be aware. Car parking is not on site (but you can drop off your luggage quite close). Nothing - everything was perfect and represented amazing value for money!. The appartment we were in was next to an alleyway and in the small hours of Friday morning the student night finished and was extremely noisy for about 2 hours. The other nights were quiet though. Ear plugs and some warning would have been good!. No parking. Company had negotiated discounted deal with NCP but it was still expensive for overnight. Park & Ride don't provide overnight parking. We parked in a residential area about half a mile away and walked back in. Even to park further out and get taxi in would have worked out cheaper than paying parking. the only thing that could be improved is the TV reception which was very poor and I could only watch a couple of channels. as this has come up in other reviews I'm surprised nothing has been done. i'd be picking hairs to find fault. Only the lack of a wardrobe in the bedroom - just pegs on the wall and the roughness of the bedroom carpet. There was nothing we didn't like. Using the ncp car park, I parked at 9.45pm and left at 8.00am and it cost me nearly £17 because reception was closed during these hours I could not get my ticket validated. When I later asked at reception they said there was nothing they could do. It is advertised as 41% off but only if ticket is validated. This is a lot to add to the price of the apartment. There is nothing not to like!. nothing. Nothing. Nothing I did not like. No free parking. there was nothing we didnt like. We had slight problem exiting carpark with valadation of ticket but was soon sorted. There's a gate that rattles through the appartment at all hours, easy enough to ignore though. Apartment was on the ground floor right next to a side street so some noise early in a morning. This would not however, put us off from returning. The electric gate banging when people entered and left. No negatives for these lovely lovely luxury apartments. Little bit expensive. TV kept losing signal. The apartments are next door to a nightclub which kept us awake until approx 3am both nights. Perhaps an apartment further away wouldn't have heard the noise but we were in apartment one which was directly next door. wobbly toilet seat ! although this really is picking hairs ! communal smoking area which was near our apartment meaning when we had the window open we could smell tobacco smoke ....not pleasant . our room was rather close to an outside terrace of a bar and so could hear noise from there at night. All good.

Please note that reception hours are from 09:00 until 18:00 from Monday to Saturday, and from 10:00 until 14:00 on Sunday. The reception team are on-site between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 Monday through to Saturday and between the hours of 10:00 and 14:00 on a Sunday. The property will send you an email the day before your arrival with all the information you will need to arrive out of reception hours. This email will include the security codes to enter through the gates and also into your key box, unique to your allocated apartment. If you are unable to access this information the day before your arrival, please let the property know as a matter of urgency. If guests plan on arriving between 18:00 - 21:00 it is very important that they read their arrival email as they will need this information for the self-check in as there will be no-one onsite to assist you.
