Room was comfortable and well equipped. Pleasant lounge with kitchen for use of guests. Convenient for restaurants and night life of Galata. Close to tram for easy access to sights of Sultanahmet.
Unfortunately the roof terrace was closed for reasons beyond the owners' control.
Great staff, friendly and informed, casual but professional. They went out of their way, even making me a breakfast plate at 2:30 a.m. and supplying me with much-needed cold medicine when I was headed for the airport!
It was all good.
I would highly recommend Rooms Galata. The room was beautiful, combining old architecture and new amenities, spacious and clean. I loved everything about it. Most of all, the staff are friendly and hospitable. They are accomodating when booking a service, like a Turkish bath, or taxis.
There is nothing I didn't like.
After staying 10 nights Rooms Galata, I can say the following points: 1- Rooms Galata location has access to most of the tourism places 2- It is immaculate (super clean) the house keeper Mine was time flexible and she arranged and cleaned everything perfectly. 3- Melih, Ahmet and Emir are the hotel staff. they are super nice and helpful. Also, they made a daily programme for the most interesting things in Istanbul. They have great experience in what tourists needs. 4- Well designed and every corner was furnished accurately.
1- Old and need a bit of maintenance. 2- Noise isolation is extremely needed. 3- Not suitable for kids, elder people, disabled or people with knee or back injury as the around area contains hills which make it difficult for these people mobility.
We love Istanbul and this accommodation was close to the action yet quiet and safe. Room was very spacious and well furnished. Easy to relax after active days. Appreciated the lift to 3rd floor.
Our room had mezzanine bed so slightly challenging. Reality was fine but sleepwalkers take care.
Great place to stay, Love the deco old/modern boutique hotel. Good neighbourhood Best restaurants nearby, 15mins by tram to all tourist sites. Clean, comfortable and the best is the two hosts, Emir and Ahmet. From arrival to departure, helped me with everything, where to go/visit, which restaurant/clubs and also did all the booking. Great hospitality. Thank YOU every1 @ Rooms Galata. Definitely worth it and see you soon.11/10
Old building turned into design/boutique hotel. Good value for money. Good location for everything-- galata between new taksim and old sultanamet. Close walk to 2 different metro lines, galata tower, modern gallery and istikal shopping/walking/nightlife street. Staff super cool and helpful.
Nothing hotel can control-- maybe noise in narrow street below, but thats unavoidable in any hotel like this. Cant keep blinds open during day due to being right across from neighbors. Maybe a different room would change this if it concerns you.
An amazing place, great location, made exceptional by the people. Emir and his colleague Ahmet assisted with everything, from transfers to restaurants to hammam bookings! A real treasure - thank you guys!

This re-purposed old building was oozing with charm, and the rooms are decorated simply and elegantly, making it a very relaxing and comfortable space to be in. The cozy quarters make you feel immediately at home, and the staff, who are very laid back and helpful, add to that. Not to be missed is the rooftop terrace, which was just breathtaking, both in how the small space was smartly carved out in the midst of the busy quarter, and in the stunning view. The location is also excellent - right next to everything, but quietly tucked away in a side street.

Lovely boutique hotel in a fantastic area for those who like great food and endless cobbled lanes to wander in. Easy to access all the main sites by tram and so many fantastic restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. Staff very helpful. Good for self caterers too as there is a kitchen
Prepare for some serious hill climbing as on a steep street!

Absolutely unique. Exceeded all of my expectations. The only thing that needs mentioning is that it's on a really steep hill, but I enjoyed the walk up it every time. You really feel as though you've found somewhere special here, it's that kind of place. The immediate area is great, you really feel as though you're part of the community. Loved the restaurant at the bottom of the hill and the barbers shops. Make sure you visit the 2nd hand shop, as there are some amazing things there!
The staff at the hotel bent over backwards to help us out. We were staying there at a time when the Istanbul protests were peaking and the staff went out of their way to ensure our safety whilst also ensuring that the proeests did not curtail out Istanbul experience.

The staff at the hotel, both Ahmet and Emir, were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. It's more like being in an apartment than a hotel room with the added benefit of housekeeping. It's a pretty laid back environment for a busy city like Istanbul. Very close to major shopping area and sightseeing. Good number of restaurants close by.
The only things I didn't like about my stay: 1) Apt 2 is very nice but the bathroom is too small. 2) It's located in the middle of the block on a hill so every time you want to leave the hotel you have to walk uphill which could pose a problem for anyone with back problems like myself.
Central location, near to tram station for access to Sultanahmet district and Besiktas district. Istiklal is just a throw away, great restaurants and nightlife nearby. Warm and friendly staff! Booking worth done!

Great stay in all aspects
The staff was really friendly & helpful, they helped me when I'd get lost in Istanbul due to the language problem. The location was great near a lot of eating places, bars, cafes and close access to the tram for traveling to the touristy sites, cab is available in less than 1 minute also. The room was really nice and clean better than 5 stars.
The bathroom was slightly small but it was really nice at the same time.
What a delightful experience. Our two adult children had the most exquisite room facing the street and my husband and I had a room with a terrace on the inside. Every nook was ingeniously designed and everything had been considered for our most pleasant stay. The two young men who ran it were always on call and extremely friendly and forthcoming with suggestions for places to eat. Lovely area with designer shops around the first corner and almost on top of Galata Tower and just off Istiklal Cadessi.Be ready for a short climb up (or down) the hill to get there. But it's more than worth it!
Me and my husband had an absolutely fantastic treat from the time we got to the hotel to the time we took off again. The atmosphere was super nice, quiet and comfortable and we felt at home from the very 1st second we entered the door where Emir welcomed us. We booked a rather large room so we enjoyed the spacy room. Also we enjoyed the roof terace many times - with a beautiful view in the morning time as well as in the evening when viewing the evening sunset. The hotel has a great location near shopping, dining and transportation. In regards to our demands and wishes, this hotel simply was perfect for us and we therefore highly recommend it and we are sure you will enjoy your stay there too if you like us, like to melt into a city and its atmosphere.
Great place to stay and in a very nice neighbourhood 'beyoglu' of istanbul, great restaurants to visit and close to all important historical buildings reachable by a good organised public transport. Really enjoyed our stay..Unique Hotel with a kind staff
The guys that run the place are really lovely and chilled out. The location was excellent, close to some great cafes, restaurants and the shopping district, ad well as an easy walk to galata bridge.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were tastefully decorated. The location was great for the livelier side of town..
The lift was a little noisy next to our room, but this did not affect the quality of our stay though.

Room was very beautiful and with all the comfort you need. We had a private terrace. You can use the kitchen and living room witch are again very nicely decorated. On the rooftop is a terrace with a view on the Bosporus. Staff was very friendly and gave good tips for restaurants. We sure will stay there again next time.

Industrial decoration style, cosy rooms, friendly stuff, very near to the shops & the metro.
The fact that it wasn't very easily accesible with the taxi. Some taxi drivers didn't know how to get there (many padestrian streets in the area)
Rooms Galata offers a charming and friendly atmosphere. A small establishment indeed, but its size offers a perfect atmosphere to make friendship with fellow travelers over (always available) cup of coffee/tea and lovely pretzel in the common area. It is also located on the fashionable end of Taksim.
The steep road in front of the hotel is a challenge for the lesser fits.
They offer a car service from the airport (for a fee). The Concierge/Reception are very friendly and try to accommodate any requests...ask for Ahmet, he's the best! They upgraded me to a suite without me even inquiring. They had cleaning staff come daily to tidy my apartment. The water pressure of the shower is great, and their towels smell amazing. It is very close walking distance to metro and shopping district. (Note: Rooms Galata is located on a steep incline- which I loved for daily excercise- so be prepared if walking) I was in Europe on business for a month, and they allowed me to do my laundry for no charge. They have an elevator- which not a lot of apartment rentals do in Istanbul. They had cnbc and Bloomberg on cable for reports. They had free wifi which was consistent.
I wish they had cnn on their cable selection.

It was in a perfect location. It was clean, modern, everything worked well. It was a stylish hotel that was thought through really well. The manager was exceptionally helpful, set up a perfect dinner reservation for me.
It was a little bit loud at night if you have a room on the street, but it really was not that bad at all.
Location was excellent although on a very steep hill which might affect some people, howver, cheap taxis aboundant. Metro & trams very close. Staff very helpful, room slightly quirky. Lots to see and do.
