My husband, my brother in law and his wife and I went to Basel for the Christmas Markets in November 2013 for two nights. Our two bedroom apartment at Casa Esperanza was wonderful! Walter, the owner of apartment, was very helpful and welcoming. The apartment was very clean, looks newly remodeled, it was warm (even on very cold nights), had plenty of hot water, and had everything we needed (ex: towels, fully equipped kitchen). Independent flat. We had a two bedroom flat. Very comfortable, and clean. We arrived after midnight and we were expected.

There were only two things that could have been improved. 1) Be sure to ask how it will be best to contact the owner once you arrive. We waited about 15 minutes because we had buzzed the guest house, not the owner's apartment, and he did not answer his phone right away. 2) The bathroom was missing a bath mat for outside of the shower. That being said, those two things were VERY minor and other than that, we had a wonderful stay! Again, HIGHLY recommended!. There were only two things that could have been improved. 1) Be sure to ask how it will be best to contact the owner once you arrive.
