Centrally located in Kyoto, Tomiya Ryokan offers Japanese-style lodging with private bathrooms, a hot public bath and free Wi-Fi, a 1-minute stroll from JR Kyoto Station. Japanese meals are served in the rooms.
Ryokan Tomiya is a 2-minute walk from Kyoto Tower and a 10-minute walk from Higashi-Hongan-ji Temple. The Nishi-Hongan-ji Temple is a 13-minute walk away.
Rooms offer a tatami (woven mat) floor, shoji sliding paper screens and a seating area. Guests sleep in traditional futon bedding on the floor, and amenities include an LCD TV, a safe and a mini-fridge.
Tomiya offers a Japanese breakfast, and dinner consists of either sukiyaki or a traditional multi-course dinner with seasonal specialities. For sukiyaki, guests boil their vegetables and meat in a soup at the dining table.
After a busy day of sightseeing, guests can relax in a soothing bath in the Ryokan's public bathing facilities, which are separate for men and women. Drinks can be purchased at vending machines.

Very friend and helpful staffs. Good facilities, they have elevator, so
very useful with big luggage. They have shower room too, in case
you're not comfortable with Japanese style bath.
Japanese style room is quite traditional. The traffic is very
convenient. The hotel is so close to Kyoto jr Station.
Great location in heart of city, just a couple walks to train station. όλα τα σχόλια »
Location is very good. It was simple but comfortable.
The location was fabulous.
front desk staffs are friendly and helpful;
value for money, esp during the super peak (sakura season).
Excellent location acroos the road from the Kyoto Rail Station.

Friendly, helpful staff.
Very close to Kyoto station
Free onsen.
The bed roll are very comfaortable.
Friendly staff, convenient location.
The only thing to really recommend this ryokan was the delightful, kyoto-style breakfast they served.
Front desk staff was friendly and went out of there way to try to help us.
Location is very convenient across the station but that's just about it.
Location. Steps from the Kyoto's central Sation.
Convince to JR line.
It's quite a distance from the jr station.
No internet signal at all, eventhough you've got the password.
None.
Room too small for 3 people. The plumbinbg leaked in the bathroom. The torch didn't work. Needs updating.
Old rooms/facilities
Toilet smelled of old plumbing.
Room is old, ancient furnitures
Bathroom not so clean
Curfew at 23:00.
The hotel has time to close the door at 11.00 p.m.
Stayed for 2 days but they made us bed only in the first day,
don't know why.
No Internet in the room.
First, the hotel was NOT clean. There was grime on the light switches, the bathroom smelled like urine, the shared bath had mold that could easily have been wiped off. Second, when we weren't checked out at 10:00 sharp we got an angry knock at the door and two phone calls from the reception desk telling use we needed to be out immediately (no 15 minute grace period).
Room and all features are too small. Room and bathroom were not clean.
The place is not well cleaned. Pillows and linen have strands of hair.Obviously not ours. When we asked for 2 extra towels to wrap the pillows for hygiene reason an old female staff was adamant that we cannot have more than 2.she later relented when we showed our
displeasure. Place is not comfortable.
We had a japanese-style room. I wouldn't recommend it, as it had a tiny, tiny, tiny bathroom, and there wasn't enough room to fit the bed (mattress on the floor) and table a the same time, so we had to actually move the furniture in order to unroll the mattress and make our own beds.
Old run down facility. Not a relaxing retreat as one expects from a royacan. Very disappointing over priced would not recommend it to anyone.
