Very nice personel in the ryokan. Room very spacious and clean. Breakfast very Japanese. Next to train station.Great experience to see traditional accomodation.
Difficuilt to find because the name of the ryokan is in Japanese only. All major attractions are bus ride from the ryokan.

Not everything was explained in English, even the front of the hotel was in Japanese (not convenient when you're looking for it the first time, the street names are also all written in Japanese..).

Like all Asian hotels, the bed has a thick comforter that is too warm unless you turn the a/c way up.
Traditional Japanese experience, with the convenience of modern amenities. Lots of complimentary toiletries and traditional Japanese leisure robes provided. Excellent breakfast.
The check-in time was quite late at 4pm; but we were able to leave our bags so really it wasn't a problem at all.
The staffs and the place were clean. Nearby to kyoto station and shopping malls.

Great Japanese breakfast included each morning - lots of variety, unfortunately somethings a little too adventurous for our western palettes. Lovely room and very relaxing onsen/public bath.

No onsen
Japanese common hot bath (but not onsen) was good : clean, just-nice ambience, not to large or too small. rooms amenities included : large kettle, enough tea,coffee bags; towels, robes, toilet kit. Just 5 stories, not too many rooms, quite homely atmosphere. Just across the road from Kyoto train station - very convenient counter staffs very friendly & forthcoming to assist.

Near JR train ,just across the road. Japanese style with Japanese breakfast.
Tiny bathroom. Bath kits all hide under sink. You have to arrange the mattress for yourself. They also have curfew.
