  Our stay at the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf was great. We had a clean, tidy room that was serviced daily. We were a block walk away from where our hop on hop off bus departed from. Location was great! Just 5min walk to Pier 39. A lot safer area to stay than where people from our tour were staying (Union Square area) as there were very few ... was die leute sagen » homeless people, crackheads etc. I felt a lot safer staying down here and walking around at night. Bear in mind you do have to still have to be mind - The location is perfect for those who want to explore San Fran on foot. Chinatown, Little Italy, Lombard St, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, and the Marina are all within a 10-15 minute walking distance. Take bus 49 from outside the hotel and you can take a quick ride ($2/day pass) to go visit the Painted Ladies or Japan Town. There is great food nearby and tours that go to the bridge and beyond. The hotel itself is very clean, with nice staff and great pricing for this area. We will def

I had fresh air from a window on an inner courtyard, and even with the window open could hardly hear traffic. Hotel was fairly quiet, overall.
