We have a big family and were given a very large room with a view. This was a pleasant surprise as the only negative comments I read from reviews before our stay was in regard to small rooms without a view. - The staff was very nice and helpful, and it is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay.

with so many other hotels in the area, and I really think this was the

I did like they offered breakfast which other hotels in the area
didn'T. Breakfast was simple: cereals, breads, juices, boiled eggs.
The price was good compared to others in the area. I liked the location,
I wouldn't normally stay in "china town" but I enjoyed the
experience. One street over is North Beach, which isn't a
"beach". More appropriate name should be "little
italy"; very good italian restaurants. I would stay here again if
the prices stayed the way they were.

Beautiful hotel in the best location. The rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing. The hotel is located by really nice cafes and great restaurants, although I would stay away from the Italian restaurant right next door. Bad service and not very good. On the other hand, the cafe/bakery on the other side of the entrance is really good. -

The location of the Baldwin Hotel is just great - literally steps from Chinatown's main gate and only one block from Union Square and public transportation. The Room was great. Very Clean. Hotel front desk woman with an accent
wasn't warm, but helpful. The guy who worked the front desk on
Saturday night was awesome. The art going up the staircase looked like a
mess. I know art, this was design student style. Sorry. Just saying.

Considering it was a city hotel with obviously limited space we really enjoyed our stay there.

First time in a 'Boutique Hotel' setting, was amazing, very charming, friendly, convenient to everything, trolley directly outside hotel....restaurants, cafes, shopping, all within walking distance, or hop on trolley. Was very quiet, slept wonderfully. Decor quaint & beautiful. Bed comfy, water pressure great. Bkft included was good & filling. Cannot say enough great things about this adorable hotel.
