  The staff was more than helpful. On our last morning, when running to the car to grab something, realized it had been towed!! The front desk helped calm us down, while providing instructions and directions on how to find our car. Kept our room for us until we were able to get it and return. Plenty to do right around the hote - I received a very warm and friendly welcome from Ana in the Chelsea Pines Inn, and all the staff there were charming and lovely throughout my short stay. The location of this Inn is excellent - a few steps away from an underground station, Chelsea Market and the High Line. Small touches like complimentary water and printing facilities makes Chelsea Pines Inn compare favourably to more upscale places I stayed in ny (where they were charging $8 for a small bottle of water!).

  They do not have elevator, the internet is only in the lobby and the breakfast is too simple, but almost all of this are cited in the hotel description. So, I recomend this hotel because it was exactly I expected. My bad grade to the cleaness was because of the bathrooms. However, it happens because of the guests (some people do not know how to sh... was die leute sagen » are a bathroom without leave everything dirty), not due to hotel team. The room is cleaned every day, and the hotel have new painting and clean halls - Friendly guys at reception, possibility to leave suitcase there after check-out (for $4), there was even breakfast included in the price (very very basic though, but all I need in the morning is a coffee to get me going :-), easy to meet fellow travellers (the people staying there were all really communicative and friendly and interesting to talk to) in the lounge, which is the only place to get free wifi on your mobile or laptop in the hostel

  This was our second stay at the East Village this summer and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is very convenient, as transit can be accessed by 5-10 minute walk. Also, the rooms themselves have a modern feel and are maintained very well (very clean!). We also loved the fact that it has kitchenette (with fridge).   Outside construction noise worried me upon arrival, but we were given a room that faced the back courtyard and overall our stay was very quiet. The room itself was beautiful and very tastefully decorated. While smaller than usual hotel rooms, it provided us with enough space for a short weekend stay.   I was attending a conference at NYU. The hotel is right at the heart of NYU and so was a convenient location for me. The beautiful Washington Square Park is just steps away from the hotel. I like that the hotel is situated in a safer and quieter part of the city, yet within easy reach of the attractions in the city. They were knowledgeable and prompt in responding to requests, as well as generous with recommendations for places - My sister and I traveled to NYC for an event at NYU. Loved the look and style of the hotel. Staff was amazing and VERY accommodating.   Great location. Beside subway station and just a 5min ride into Manhattan. So handy. Easy to find if travelling from jfk. Area was safe but not a lot to see around the hotel. There doesn't really need to be though, as Manhattan is just across the river. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room was great, very comfy and clean. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast - The location may not be the most attractive one in NYC but it is very convenient - fast transportation to the hotel from the JFK airport by subway; only few minutes subway ride to Manhattan. The subway station is so close to the hotel, that when you got off the station you can actually see the hotel right from there. The vicinity of the hotel seems to be quite safe and it was rather quiet in the night. We had very good view on Empire State building and Queensboro bridge from the hotel room. The
