We have been there many times, and the staff are always so welcoming, the food and service are great, it's near where we need to be in East Anglia, and we love it!!
The whole experience - the setting of the hotel in a historical village, the old building itself sympathetically decorated and furnished, but particularly the attentiveness and polite friendliness of staff. It was a Pearl Wedding celebration and the staff made it really special - a great place to be pampered and relax. The food was excellent and the afternoon tea an experience in itself.
Nothing at all - congratulations!
Easy access, location, room excellence, the perfectly restored building, the lounge and bar areas, basically everything.
relaxing atmosphere and excellent facilities and service
Lovely hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. Food was excellent. Room had recently been refurbished and was spotless.
All drinks were expensive.
Second stay at this hotel and will definitely be back. Fantastic welcome, service and nothing is too much trouble.
Ambience, attentiveness of staff, bed comfort, freshly-cooked breakfasts.
Atmosphere and character
The ambience of the building.
Hotel staff very pleasant and excellect food
Good food and friendly efficient staff during an Easter weekend of poor weather.
Lack of lifts, bathroom showers.
The room and the food were excellent
Polite staff, great location, the fact you could sit in peace and quite beside open fireplaces with a glass of wine and let the world go by.We left there totally de-sressed
The hotel location, the hotel itself and restaurant all excellent
Location and atmosphere of an 'old world' hotel.
A lift, or alternative set of stairs, would have been helpful; but probably impractical given the age and design of the buildings. Breakfast service (not food) somewhat erratic - eg cooked food arriving whilst cereals still being eaten! Fellow guest sent his back.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food served was always very good .
Consider that more information should be given on the number of steps/stairs around the hotel.
the staff were very good
The general ambience was excellent. The food was very good.
On one of the hottest nights of the year the room was very hot and the fan insufficient to make much of an impression upon it.
Character of the place
Food quality excellent, but portions were small
real log fires
supplements for everything extra particularly menue
Atmosphere of the hotel
Quite cold - no double glazing in very old windows
Log fires
Private function in restaurant so evening meal was served in small, very cold, characterless room. Spoke about it at checkout but receptionist unhelpful and rude. Have since emailed manager but no response.
The Swan is an attractive Old Worlde style of hotel that looks inviting but looks can be deceptive
I tried to put all my comments but there was not enough room to detail even the tiniest comment as to how we felt about our stay
