The room was spacious and well furnished. We had a street facing room but the noise wasn't bad at all. You are given keys to the front door and your room on arrival so you aren't restricted by times. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay (and remained so even though we had a blip).

preferred to walk (about 15 minutes to Waverley Station). A large
supermarket (Tesco) is 5 minutes away and so are a number of
restaurants. I went on a day tour that set off early in the morning and
John (the owner) gladly served breakfast earlier than usual for me, so
that was great hospitality. If it were not fully booked, I'd have

The hotel owner even gave us an excellent advice what to do and see further in Scotland and let us leave our car in their not so big car park even thought we stayed for only one night. Ross was a very welcoming and relaxed host. He provided us with some good recommendation for locations to visit whilst in Scotland. Breakfast was a gourmet experience with a great range for vegetarians (i had the Campbell's vegetarian haggis both mornings). Room was tastefully decorated and a good size. We enjoyed a cold beer in the oudoor room, which was just what we needed after a full days travel.

There is a lot of storage space available. - We liked the builidng design, facilities, furnishings, kitchen and bathroom facilities and location. Handy for Princes Street, Usher Hall, theatres and cinemas, but quiet too. Shops and restaurants nearby. Secure basement parking on site. Comfortable beds. Nice views of castle to rear and canal basin from lounge. Communal lobby and lift were clean too.

The guest house is run by a very warm and inviting family. The breakfast is excellent, a good variety of cereals, hot food, fruit, yogurt and a seemingly endless supply of tea and toast! We were given great instructions on getting to the main part of the city and the room was comfortable and spacious with a spotless ensuite which was small but perfectly adequate for our needs. Having previously stayed in hostels when I have visited Edinburgh, this made a welcome change and I'm sure we will stay
