Clean and comfortable. Pleasant decor and furnishing. Helpful friendly and courteous proprietor. I stay in a lot of hotels and you learn that the first thing to do is check everything works, if there is to be the slightest chance of anything being fixed before you leave. So when a light bulb blew I was delightfully surprised to find it instantly replaced without my even reporting it.
Central location for touring the Cotswolds, friendly management and staff, best breakfast consisting of every fresh berry and fruits and full English breakfast.beautiful stately home with antiques and common rooms with open fire. Robert and his team made us feel at home.Cosy and hearty nights spent at nearby pubs / restaurants,.
Lovely small hotel with attentive but non intrusive staff. Much better than staying in an impersonal chain. Rooms spotless and individual, free off street parking and lovely public rooms. Breakfast excellent. Like staying in a private house! Location perfect with many good restaurants in walking distance.
The fact that the hotel was not large, and was very cozy, while having full facilities, including Wi-Fi, and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, and beautifully cooked, and I liked the idea you had a key for the front door, as I felt very secure here. Also, it was in a great location.
Room was large and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was excellent with
great choices and fresh produce. Location was excellent with a short
walk to Cheltenham. Sue & Robert, (owners of the business) were
excellent hosts, that would do anything to assist travellers to have a
nice comfortable stay.
Very comfortable hotel all round.. Lovely communal lounge.Had a large bedroom with large bathroom. Excellent breakfast with good selection of fresh fruit and fab cooked English. Good location just a short walk into Cheltenham. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend it.
Location was excellent, staff were superb, the room was lovely. The breakfast was extremely well presented with lots of choice included in the room rate. Parking was within the grounds of the house. We really enjoyed our stay and will return when we are next down in Cheltenham.
Very helpful owner. Beautiful room, tastefully furnished. Parking but can walk to station. Close to Montpellier and its shops and bars. Freshly cooked breakfast plus buffet with plentiful fresh fruit choice. One of nicest places I have stayed in Cheltenham - will return.
A lovely old English mansion with huge drawing room, an 'honour bar' where you could pour yourself a drink after being out for dinner and just write down your room number. The host was very nice and helpful and they cooked a magnificent traditional English breakfast.
very stylish guest house in perfect location near Montpellier Gardens. friendly owners and staff. we stayed in Suffolk room, a larger double on ground floor, with beautiful high ceilings and floor-ceiling windows. lots of period features mixed with modern furniture.
Geat location, beautiful property with lovely guest rooms, friendly hardworking management and staff (everthing is immaculate and food is cooked to perfection). Will definitely go back and would recommend to anyone looking for a touch of class in the Cotswolds.
This is the most beautiful hotel in a super location. The lounge area is wonderful and had its own loyalty bar. The breakfast facilities are by far the best we have experienced. Would definitely like to return here in the future and would highly recommend.
Supremely comfortable and very well appointed. This is now my default
Cheltenham accommodation stop (I visit about twice a year). A
Georgian mansion in a great location, with complimentary parking in
city-centre a bonus.
Our guest room was lovely.Tastfully decorated, spacious with ensuite.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast good choice and cooked well.
Would definately stay there again and have already recommended it to other friends.
Absolutely NOTHING bad too say about this Hotel. Beautifully decorated in keeping with the period of this gorgeous house. Walking distance to town centre, Montpellier, fabulous restaurants. A definite MUST.
I loved the ambiance and the decoration in the house. It was in a great spot close to the town without being too noisy. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok. The fresh fruit was lovely.
Beautiful period building with bedroom styling to match. Excellent bathroom facilities. Good Wi-Fi - free of charge. Very convenient for town centre yet in a quiet road with parking on site.
The house and the room was beautifully appointed. Both were spotless and very comfortable. Plenty of parking space and only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Breakfast was excellent.
Fabulously comfortable, very friendly staff, extremely accommodating and courteous. Bathrooms divine, breakfast very nice. I can't really fault this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Located in a perfect quiet road with off street parking and a beautifully restored period property. Would recommend definately and would equally be perfect for a city break.
Excellent venue, nice breakfast, spotlessly clean and delightful surroundings with good parking facilities within walking distance to Cheltenham Montpellier and Promenade.
Rooms very larges, power shower wonderful. Attention to detail in this small hotel was superb. The breakfast was exquisite and utter quality ingredients.

It's very comfortable and clean. There is extra space to sit and relax with a very cute bar and conservatory.
Friendly welcome, lovely and clean everywhere, very comfortable clean beds and the breakfasts were excellent.
Style of the building and its decoration. The location to the centre of Cheltenham, just a few minutes walk.
Cleanliness, Comfort, Quiet location, Ease of access to restaurants. There was nothing we did not like.
The house was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Well situated for shops bars and restaurants.

Central Cheltenham location
Pretty garden
delightful conservatory
Good staff
Discreet
Good breakfast.
House, propriator, immaculate bright rooms, clean and elegant character, sitting rooms, breakfast.
The location was excelllent for our needs. Very clean and tastefully decorated, appointed rooms.
The hotel is lovely, beautifully clean and furnished to a high standard. Breakfast was superb.
We have stayed before, always superb, a breakfast choice and quality that cant be beaten!!!!!.
Nice comfortable bed and the shower was excellent, central location for all the restaurants.
Very pleasant owners, elegant setting, immaculate napery. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Very friendly and helpful host. Breakfast cooked freshly to order.
Very convenient for town.
Too quiet. The proprietor is never around, except on first arrival and at breakfast, to welcome guests.
Headroom a bit tight in top floor room under sloping ceiling.
Couldnt stay longer!!.
We enjoyed everything there was not negatives.
The rooms are very small, we had trouble opening our two suitcases at the same time.
We had a room on the top floor which mean lugging two large suitcases up three flights of stairs.
the kingsize bed was not that comfortable, especially compared to Beaumont House where we stayed the night before. It sagged in the middle.
Only small complaints, the other guests were a little 'noisy'... for a lovely large old house, the walls seem a little thin!.
My room had a great marble-inlaid bath with shower attachment. No
freestanding shower, and couldn't really shower over the bath, and
so if in a hurry the lack of a shower is a minus. But the bath filled up
quickly so that was a treat.
I think it was a little bit expensive for a one night stay.
Nothing.
It was quite noisy in the house in the morning, with doors banging and people talking (were on the top floor). The noise from the traffic was quite loud. It was very warm and for comfort we needed to open the window. The bed mattress was very soft/springy.
Nothing particularly, perhaps a little background music at breakfast it helps break up the silence and whispering.
Proprietors were slightly quirky and a little offhand in a Basil Fawltyesque manner which you will find either amusing or supercilious.
car pack too small.
Our room on the top floor had sloping ceilings and dormer window which made the effective room size even smaller than it was. The rooom was therefore very cramped and with only one chair was not very well furnished.
Nothing.
When we checked out after breakfast we wanted to let the staff know where the key was and to thank them. The woman we saw was unnecessarily rude, which left us with a bad feeling.
stayed during the hot weather in a top floor bedroom and it was very hot but a fan was provided in the room which gave some relief but realistically not alot they can do about the unusual british weather!!.
room near to front door so a little noisy,4 steep steps up to bathroom, tiles in bathroom not in keeping with rest of décor and cracked, extra blackout needed at windows at night as room was too light.
Nothing, all was perfect.
Nothing!.
nothing.
Nothing.
Breakfast was very good but far too quiet in restaurant. Background music would have helped here.
nothing of note.
Poor directions for finding. Your map is both inadaquate and wrong. The Lypiatt website should be modified to include directions and if possible a street map.
Due to unforessen circustances there was no was chef at hand for the morning breakfast (full english) although a very nice continental alterantive was provided. We were offered a complimentary drink at the bar for recompense.
Room was not air conditioned and on the hottest day of the decade was uncomfortable but I can't really hold that against them !!!.
Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Not much choice for breakfast, there was only one juice (orange) no rolls, breads, croissants or cheeses. There was no bubbly for my young lady to make a Buck's Fizz.
