Was die Leute sagen
I liked that is was fairly close to Brighton town centre. It was cheap, cosy, clean and the service was very good.
The staff were helpful and friendly. It was very convenient having the restaurant in the same building and if we wanted a drink we did not have to worry about driving anywhere.
Overall we had a very nice stay and would certainly stay again.
Good value, comfortable room. Noon check out time. Good value Harvester restaurant on site. The weather was freezing but we had good heaters we could control ourselves. Nice hot shower. Free car parking and good access to public transport.alle bewertungen »
We had an overnight stop due to my son playing football. Had a family
room which suited us, plenty of space. Loved the fact I walked down the
stairs from our room into the Harvester. Convenient, good car parking.
the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble, the harvester attached to the hotel was very nice and an added bonus after a long journey to having diner without leaving the hotel.
The staff was friendly and helpful ,the room was comfortable and clean the bedding and towels were changed every day which was a bonus .The food was good and we will recommend it to others .
Check in was faster than usual and the Lodge is being updated. It looks like they have a new manager in charge who is improving the service dramatically. Rooms always clean and tidy.
As a venue for an overnight stay it ticks all the boxes. Clean, quiet, comfortable, late book in and out etc but it excels in the excellent staff, even the cleaners were friendly!.
Second time my son & I have stayed to take in the local football, great location, comfortable stay and very nice food. Nothing to grumble about at all.
Very friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfy room, easy bus ride to Brighton at very reasonable price. Will be back next year!.

Great Hotel, Good Food, Quiet in room.
Location of room for disabled.
Nice rooms, good value.
Good breakfast.
we have visited twice before and like the location as it is close to our daughters flat in preston road. the garden is lovely in good weather for a drink under the sunshade and the bed rooms are always clean and comfortable with good tea making facillities.
A big and clean room considering it was cheap compared to other hotels in Brighton. Location was just out of the main town but the free parking made up for this. Enjoyable stay and would stay again at this hotel.
We have always liked this lodge having stayed there every year for the last 38 years, it use to be called The Black Lion.
The friendly attitude of the staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Good plentiful food. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
Friendly efficent staff
Good location
Fabulous large shower.
There is all you need in the room. Breakfast is included.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Enjoyed my stay.
It ticked all the boxes that were needed.
Excellent well trained friendly staff.
Location, food, service, parking.
We liked where it was situated.
location
friendly staff.
room was a good size.
car park.
the staff are most friendly and extremely helpful. the breakfast was excellent and it was inculsive.
Though the breakfast was very good and there was an opportunity to ask for a cooked breakfast. We felt that is should have been offered as we don't like to ask for things if we can help it.
I also feel that the continental breakfast did lack in croissants and cold meats.
The internet access did not appear to be free.
I did ask reception for an extra pillow ( they advise this) although it
never arrived.
Nothing that we can think of .
Inclusive continental breakfast. A major let down. Cereal and toast whilst of good quality does not represent good value. We decided to pay more than we could have as we regularly eat at Harvesters and this one is the best in Brighton so expected a good breakfast included or at least a reduction off their menu prices. Next visit to Brighton we won't stay here but will return for the food!.
Not actually a dislike, the hotel is having a makeover, lots of outside construction parts, our room had ceiling painted and I could smell the paint, the room was clean and very serviceable, cant wait to visit again to see new decorations.
The carpets in the communal areas of the accommodation were very dirty.
Difficult entrance to car park.
The toaster.
the building needs a capital injection, there are places in the building that could do with a facelift - windows are draughty in the restaurant and generally the place could do with smartening. This is not a criticism, it is a comment. However the building is clean and standards of hygiene and cleanliness are good. Well done.
Road noise, also our room may have been above kitchen as there was a lot
of banging between 5:00am and 6:00am. Initial mix up over room was soon
sorted out by manager.
Entrance way to the hotel part was dirty and a bit smelly, but the room itself was nice and clean and well decorated.
Nothing.
Shower only,no bath.
Large puddle outside entrance to rooms in our wing, this got us seriously wet, shoes and trousers. There was no other way to get to room.
A little attention to detail......the curtain was off the track on one window and the tea/coffee facilities hadn't been replenished properly there was no milk.
Small Shower and having to carry large luggage up stairs to rooms.
had to hunt for thermostat on electric wall heater to warm room up it was right at the back and not obvious.
The bed was quite soft and uncomfortable.
N/A.
Slow restaurant service and smaller than expected portion size for a Harvester.
The bathroom had no heating!.
Distance from seafront and no cooked breakfast included.
No handwash available in our room & any spare rooms!!!.
we were a little disappointed on our last visit, as we had a very disturbed night with a continuous noise like a generator that went on most of the night. another downside was at breakfast, on the other visits we made, there were plenty of croissants etc, this time we found just bread and we certainly were not late coming down for breakfast, if we had been i would have understood the shortage. I think at £82 we should have had better!.
Little bit dated but for the price this was to be expected. Noisy in the morning when traffic starts as on a main road.
Not having the correct continental breakfast/being told not fruit, when complained that its trade description suddnely they supplied some melon
/strawberries/pineapple. But no cossiants As stated I your details in the rooms. When server asked manager about fruit she said no, but the server said that they had no deliver. But on both days breakfast was only laid out with yoghurts/bread/cereals and of course coffee/tea orange juice on first day was hot.
Could do with an up date of the decor.
Tatty rooms
Dirty carpets and walls in corridors
Pervading smell of cigarette smoke in room.
10 minutes drive from the city centre but if you have a car, it is not a problem at all.
A bit far from town centre.
stinky, dirty hallway carpet and in hoovered carpet in room. Also generally dusty surfaces.
Some aspects of room not very clean - eg Cups, pillow cases. Room as a whole however good.
It was tired in need of a refurb.
noisy.
not all of our rooms, we near each other considering we booked as a group.
last orders at 2245, no facilities for residents after.
On arrival had to wait 15 mins. to book in. Staff said busy on Sunday?
generally run down and poor breakfast service, with wet plates and had run out of bacon(busy Sunday again?as explanation!).
the whole place looks a little grimy with scuffed paintwork and shabby soft furnishing. the carpets are threadbare in patches and rather dirty. the food from the bar menu was rather mediocre and standard bar fare. I wouldn't visit just to have a meal.
