  As we stayed at Akin Suites for a week plus 2 more overnight stays during trips through Turkey, this became our special little home. The staff are really welcoming and helpful, the suites are fresh and spacious and have kitchens, a sitting room, and the all important item while travelling- a washing machine!   Each time we arrived "home" to this hotel we were greeted with exceptional warmth. Arriving back after a very difficult day's travel we were treated to a share of the family's meal.....a delicious share! The location of the hotel is great. The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
