Basically in Puerta del Sol, with a subway station 1 min away, and at walking distance from the major attractions (Gran Via, Plaza de Cibeles, Calle Alcalá, Palacio Real, Catedral de Almudena, Paseo del Prado, etc.) a lot of shops, restaurants and cafés nearby, but inside the hotel it was reall... was die leute sagen » y quite, besides all the street noise.   The hostal was located right at the Puerta Del Sol. The location was perfect for exploration of the city. The room was clean and the towels/sheets were changed out regularly. While there were daily protests in the plaza, we never felt unsafe. The lady who worked the front desk did not speak English, but this was not a problem for us.
