Alicante Hotels

I was in spain this past May/June. I stayed there for two nights. Even though my room was on the port side with all the construction going on it didnt bother me. The staff was very friendly. My room was very nice. I had a double bed all to myself. Also in the room was an lcd TV and a fully stocked mini bar. The AC in the room was great. The beach is literally behind the hotel. The hotel is very close to the castle which is one place you want to visit. The Esplanada is a short walk away with some - Stuart

We went to Alicante for a nice relaxing getaway and we enjoyed it! Very good location for someone that wants to be near the city centre and the beach at the same time-real convinience!! Airport link cheap picks you up from outside Departures and drops you off almost outside the hotel. We stayed on the 10th floor (the highest for rooms) and the view was fantastic. The 11th floor has the gym, jacuzzi and sauna which we used and we were satisfied. You can sit at the jacuzzi and look at the amazi - Jeremy

I have to say me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the kris- wished we could have stayed there longer! The hotel was nice. I don’t understand why some people always moan all the time. The staff was friendly and we managed to communicate with them even though neither I (I’m French) nor my partner (Italian) speak Spanish. The breakfast, ok, was a bit repetitive but it’s fine if you’re staying for a short break like us. Kris has a great location. It’s near the beach, town centre, airpor - Marie

We arrived at the hotel early and the room was not ready but they provided a cooling drink and allowed us to leave our luggage while we wandered around the town. Returned a few hours later and the room was presented to us, it was minimal but outstandingly comfortable. All the gadgets were explained and we were left in peace and tranquility. This hotel lies between the marina and sea - my room had a fantastic sea view with a good sized balcony. It can easily be reached from the airport by the regular bus (C6) which runs every 20 minutes for 2.60 euros. Go to the end of the line to Plaza Purto de la mar. The hotel is opposite the stop. The hotel was clearly built in the 1970's but has been refurbished - clean rooms with newish furnishings. Good bathroom but no bathrobe. I booked this hotel for a 4 night stay in Alicante, I liked the look of the location & the price was good too. The hotel was very central, near to a lot of bars and restauants. The beach and the port were also a short walk away, and there was a good view of the castle from the roof terrace. I would suggest spending some time in one of the many bars before you go to bed, as the only night we didn't we were plagued by noise and found it difficult to sleep - the other nights were no problem h - Mike

About 25 min taxi drive from airport. Cost about 18 euros. Apparently bus fare 5 euros per person from airport but very long queues, didnt want o wait. Behind a block of flats, fairly quiet. Not even 10 min walk to beach and main tram stop to visit other towns, Benidorm just under 2 hours away tram fare 5 euros return!! wonderful. Promenade and Esplanade not even 5 min away. No hot breakfast but a variety of fruit and cold meats. Hot drinks throughout the day and night in reception. Service good - Adolfo

Stayed here for 4 nights in August 2009 for a short break in the sun. Took a taxi from the airport which was 25 euros compared to 45 if pre-booked on the internet. Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Although I have seen the reviews about rude staff we could not fault them - very helpful and friendly - excellent grasp of English - useful when you can't speak Spanish! Nice pool area and proximity to the beach is great - just step out and there it is. Our only gripe was the price o - John

We used Alicante as our base to explore the Costa Blanca, and heard about the TGS's great location in the city. That is true. It's only a block from the paseo along the beach and marina, and near many cafes and restaurants. At over 20 stories, it provides a great view of the city (if you're on a high floor). The hotel is a bit dated, but the room was comfortable and large, with a separate sitting room and updated bathroom. Internet was not available in the room, but there was free wi-fi in the l - Mark

We booked a cheap room that didn't have any windows (one small one looking into the courtyard...) but we didn't really care because we didn't stay there for other than sleeping. Airconditioning worked fine and the receptionists were extremely friendly and nice with helping us with all of our questions:) Nightlife, sea, restaurants, all 5 minutes from the hotel. Didn't really see any hotels with a better location. Free wireless in rooms would be nice though... - John

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, just to have a couple of days at the beach All the staff I encountered were lovely and very helpful. Supermarket is just across the road which is good for stocking up on drinks and snacks. Main shopping street just a few blocks from the hotel. The beach would be a good 30minute walk from the hotel. Rooms are very clean and modern, the bathroom amenties are great. The only english speaking TV channels are news channels, would have been nice to have 1 engli - Silke

No need to take anything for the bathroom. Hairdryer and soaps, shampoos etc: all supplied. Nice evening walks to find a seletion of great restaurants - any taste that you require. Beach beautiful, clean and very inviting. Would recommend for a longer stay as there is a lot to see and explore. The bathroom did smell of non use, a little damp type smell. We were given the opportunity to move rooms but decided to stay as the 'outside' rooms would be noisy. All in all a good value for money bea - Flora
