  Loved the place! What's not to like? Don't understand the negative reviews. It is right on the canal, the view from my 2-d floor room was fantastic. It took me a little bit over an hour to get to the hotel from the airport - so easy to get to and to find. The room is very basic, but enough for a quick tour of the city (I stayed less than 24 - The host was great, he helped us with our bags and was really friendly. We actually had some changes to our room arrangements but we managed to come to an agreement regarding the payment so we appreciated the flexibility. Breakfast was normal, we didn't try everything though, but it was good enough for us. We got a room for 4 and it was spacious with wide windows which created a nice effect when the sun comes in during the day. We had a view of one of the canals which was lovely. The beds were

You're in the centre but away from the noisy crowd. Dam Square is within 15 min walk. The tram stop is just next to the hotel so it's really easy to get everywhere in Amsterdam. The rooms are well-equipped, though not large, but there is enough space and furniture for - The hotel is easily reachable by public transport. I spent two nights in the hotel and enjoyed comfortable and clean rooms, rich breakfasts and friendly staff who was always there ready to help. When I arrived to the hotel tired after a long travel the manager offered me complimentary tea/coffee and gave very useful tips about what to see and where to go. Great for a couple looking for a quiet location to relax and be out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Amsterdam. This was a great area to stay to check out the trendy Jordaan, nine streets, and night club district.

The owner was incredibly hospitable and helpful in directing us to sights and restaurants within the city. Would most certainly stay at La Remis - La Remise is in a quiet street but close to all the activities. The well designed room/bathroom was 'roomy', warm and very comfortable and the served morning breakfast set us up for the day.Our charming host was very helpful: offering advice on places to visit or where to go to eat. I/we would recommend this place to couples. La Remise is quite special.
