In our age with all the media tools we have available nothing is really left ope - Do not compare a 5* hotel in Sicily with a 5* hotel anywhere else in the world...Saying that, we had a lovely time despite some flaws, exploring the Etna region and playing golf on the oldest golf course in Sicily nearby (green fee reduction when you stay in the hotel). Make sure to visit Castiglione di Sicilia about 1/2 hr. away. Hotel is in a very quiet area in well kept grounds, perfect for a short break. Very big, so you can get a real swim even if there are kids cavorting around, and there's a longer separate pool if you really want to pound along. The hotel has a greate design with a fantastic bar and restaurant with a very romantic views overlooking the bay. The staff is supernice and really make you feel welcome. This is a lovely place to stay if you want a bit of luxury and romance. It is offcourse a bit expensive also the bar and restaurant. But that is understandable - you get what you are paying for so it is OK.
