I stayed at the Heliot for one night only. The place has a lot of charm, with an odd mixture of hi-tech fingerprint front door lock, old squeaking spiral stairs, old-style rooms (cannot be much less than 4 meters to the ceiling) refurbished with new paint and furniture much more modern than the style of the room itself. In the fresh bathroom, the plumbers had switched the pipes for the shower, so to get warm water you had to turn the knob to cold: I find this kind of gets the essence of the plac - Konara

Found Hotel Heliot through LetsBookHotel and it was exactly as expected. The owner and his girlfriend were delightful-- though I suspect that they thought my dad and I were dating at first (barf). A regal black and white cat roams the ground floor, so beware if you have allergies. The room was large and a bit shabby, but nice overall. It also had a balcony which looked out on the rue Heliot. I stayed at this hotel for four nights in July. The hotel is in a really central location and is really convenient for the centre of Toulouse, the train station and the Metro. The metro station is about 50 metres away from the hotel and the airport shuttle drops off just yards away from the hotel. My twin room was very clean and comfortable. My only criticism would be that the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and looked a little shabby. For 7 euros you can get a lovely continental b - John
