We stayed here for 3 nights in July to have a look around Toulouse before going onto the Dordoyne. The service is great and we were welcomed well when arriving. We had asked for a quiet room on a higher floor which we were given. The room was a good size had everything you need and was very clean - a manager even came up one day to ask if he could do a spot check to make sure everything was to our satifaction. Furnishings were a little dated however this really does not effect the accomodatio - Helen

The Grand Balcon was a treat to ourselves in a mostly camping tour of France. We stayed two nights and got an excellent rate direct from the hotel website. When we arrived at the hotel we were told we were getting a free room upgrade. Happy days!!! For very reasonable mid-range prices we really felt we got a high end hotel. The rooms were comfortable and impeccably clean. Although the furnishings are basic, our room for three persons was equiped with everything we needed including a hair-dryer. The service was excellent, with a friendly and professional staff that delivered on everything promissed by the Hotel. Breakfast was only 7 Euros on the weekends and 10 Euros during the week, but was by far the best in variety and quality that we experienced during our two-week trip along the west-coast of France. We stayed at Hotel de France a few years ago and returned because of its great value. The location is fantastic and we were happily surprised to find free wi-fi and some new insulated windows. Wi-fi worked perfect in the lobby and even in our room. The staff is quite friendly and welcoming. We will be back! - Bernard

For a very reasonable price (55 euros a night) I spent 4 peaceful nights at hotel wilson square. The hotel is close to the centre of Toulouse and 3 minutes by walking distance from the J.Jaures avenue (where you can catch the airport bus and the metro). The hotel has its own soul and the rooms were well cleaned every day. And, most important, the "personnel" at the entrance desk and at the breakfast buffet were very kind and obliging. I loved this hotel. I came into town with no reservation just hoping to find any room at all. I had the name and address for this hotel and just took a chance because everywhere seemed to be booked. I was so excited when they had a room and then was even more happy when I saw the room and it was so cute. Small, but so great. Plus the location on rue de Taur is perfect with it's inexpensive cafes and shops. The university is nearby, many of the sights are within steps, and you never have to get o - Lisa
