  The couple that manned the desk are very friendly and accommodating. They helped coordinate our adventures on the Li River, taxis, and provided great information for a great time on the Yangshuo town.   The staff at This Old Place Hostel are amazing, they went out of their way to help us.   We had booked 2 nights in a hotel in town (reviewed as quiet one) and 2 nights at Village Retreat and we wish we had spent all our days here! So much nicer to trade the awful Chinese disco sounds and scooter alarms in the morning for the ballads of birds and frogs, the perfect place to relax after all the cities! We had one of the chalets and it was great to have a big space to group and hang out in during our down time. The staff was wonderful and were happy to help us with whatever we needed. They booked taxis and shuttles, helped us with reservations, and were all fluent in English.   We received great service during our stay at Bamboo House Resort. Our room was great with a giant spa in the middle and a balcony overlooking the street - great for an afternoon drink and people watching. We booked a half day bicycle tour through the countryside with a local guide through the hotel, and it was great value for money at 140 RMB each... was die leute sagen » compared to other quotes we received. This tour was awesome - the best thing we did in Yangshuo. The location of the hotel is awesome. Comfortable be - We liked the nice comfy bed after sleeping on a rock hard one in Guilin. The bathroom was really beautiful with a jetted tub and heated seat on the toilet. Also had a roomy shower with a rainshower head plus a handheld shower head. Close to all the shops and restaurants.

  This was one of our last stops in a 5 week trip through china and definately one of the highlights. The hotel is very comfortable with great views and really atmosphere. The staff were able to organise all of our travel plans and activities, oh and the food was good also. Would definately stay here again and recommend to others
