Location was good - two short blocks to the surf beach, and about three blocks to the inside beach in Sydney Harbour. Hence close for walks and close to food outlets and shops. It had the basics (tea, coffee, kettle) as well as some extras - bowls, toaster, for the budget meals.
This is an old facility, and looks a bit tired, but considering it is on Manly, then is value for money. Some things could be improved. There was a reading light on the table, but this did not reach to the bedhead, where a reading light would normally go. It is not airconditioned, which was okay for us, being September. It might be uncomfortable in the middle of summer.
The location was perfect with short distance to beaches and center of Manly.
If you accept that this is actually a backpackers, then good value and great location
the damp rot and peeling paint, overuse of laminated signs throughout room, website hiding that it is backpacker accom.
Roof over our heads
Staff were rude and told us we were lying when we complained about the room not bring made up on arrival. Room was full of mould and cob webs. Room was never serviced and we were forced to use bed linen to dry ourselves as we put the towels on the floor to be replaced as the sign on the wall told us to do

Secure parking was not secure. Rooms not very clean. Too many stairs to get to unit (37 steps, no other access). Accommodation very basic and rooms need a lot of work done. Bathrooms had mould in shower recesses. One room had no operable TV, only one pillow and bathroom had not been cleaned from previous occupants Check in is after 2pm, however rooms not ready on time. States "beachside" but nowhere near the beach.
There's no instruction in the room.The reception is different building.
Rude French staff. No milk in a serviced apartment. No cutlery. Won't be going back

Booking was made for wrong room, three in a double bed was too squashy, no fly screen on windows(on the 2nd floor, very dangerous) like a sauna, fan useless. 20+ stairs up to rooms,smelt like wet dog!
nothing - it was appalling
the filth and the mould and the saggy bed, the neglect and the absolute lack of care on the part of the owners and staff. I simply cannot believe that this property is on your books. We relocated after the first night and are very sorry we stayed at all! The choice of 'poor' as your lowest standard doesn't even come close. It was feral.
